3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy deep amber with thick beige head. Arena is very malty with a balanced amount of choppy/grapefruit citrus. Flavor is much the same with a sweet malty backbone. Medium-heavy mouth feel with medium carbonation. Overall, I dig it!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft flight at FS FW. Ruby-bronze pour with a thin brown head. Light, sweet, citrus hop aroma. Fairly light flavor with sweet hops and only light bitterness. Name was appropriate: left me looking for the hops. Not bad, just light flavors.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Hay Merchant. I ordered this one thinking it was an IPA, which explains my slight dismay at all the malt and toned down hops. Still, even as a strong ale, this one is bland and watery by some standards. This one doesn’t do much for me. Still, at least it’s brewed in Texas. Keep em coming, folks.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a clear amber and ruby with medium frothy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet caramel malt and tosst with light dry finish. Easy to drink a good American strong ale from Deep Ellum.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Super aroma. Floral with citrus rind notes. Nice mouthfeel. Hops are pronounced and surprisingly flavorful grass and citrus rind with a chalky clean bitter hopped finish. Very surprising for a local.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer has a bold, deep amber/brown hued color with a dense, but thin, off-white head. Its aroma is thick and bold with hops, grain, and sweetness prevailing in a concentrated way with an almost Pacific style earthiness. It’s a little herbal, and almost spicy, in the mouth – a characteristic that presents itself mostly in the finish, but joins with the hop presence in the flavor to make this seem a little off-centered from your every day Strong Ale or double IPA. This is a fairly resinous beer. Dense and full in the belly, that’s for sure. Overall, though, it’s fairly mellow for a strong ale, well yet subtly-flavored and hides its alcohol well
