3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival 2012. Pours a clear golden-amber color with a small white head. Aroma of big, citrusy hops- so fresh- with caramel malts and pineapple. The flavor brings even more citrusy hops, tropical fruits, caramel malts, pine resin, and a little bit of spice. Light-medium bodied, with a citrusy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Really nice and fresh.

Sampled at Repeal. This is an outstanding ipa. Very close to top shelf. Very nice citrus floral hops over a nice malt backbone. This is how it should be done.

On tap at Flying Saucer at The Lake (Garland/Rowlett) - Deep rusty amber red. Real nice taste of grapefruit hops with a medium body and a not too bitter finish. Will definitely be looking for this one in a bottle.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Stumbled into this one as beer #1000. My first from Deep Ellum and a decent IPA. A good bit of citrus and pine aroma and then mixed with malt for the taste. The finish is decent bitterness but not overpowering.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Holy Grail Pub in Plano.
The beer pours an orangish-gold color with a large white head. The aroma has a ton of pine and resinous notes in it. The beer smells great and the aroma reminds me of the best IPAs from the West Coast. After the great aroma, the flavor doesn’t disappoint. I get a lot of pine and resin as expected, but there is also a strong pineapple and mango component which goes with the other notes very well. There is a little bit of biscuit malt, but the bitterness is fairly strong. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
