2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
(Cask at Deep Ellum 1st anniversary) Clear medium brown, with a small tan head. Aroma smells pretty nice in terms of the coffee, but it’s also metallic too, and biscuity. Smells better as it breathes. Unfortunately something went wrong in the cask treatment. It’s metallic, lightly oaky, very sweet, the coffee seems stale, and something in this is just off. Palate finish in terms of carbonation feels nice (a little light), but the flavors left behind are not very good. Quite disappointing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the 1 yr anniversary.
Brown brew, off-white head. Tons of roasted coffee aroma - almost dominated the floral and honey aromas. Same with the flavor - woody and sweet like the original but with a big time coffee finish.

2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
On cask at the Deep Ellum 1st Anniversary Party. Served in a special Pollenator snifter. After trying the regulator Pollenator and not caring for it, I had no idea what to expect from this one.
The beer pours a clear medium to dark brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma is full of coffee, but as the beer airs out the coffee dissipates and I get more sweet toffee and biscuit notes. Unfortunately, the flavor is once again reminiscent of the regular Pollenator. There is a bit of coffee in the flavor but what really comes through is the toffee and the off notes from the base beer. I once again get some vegetable and metallic notes, which make the beer impossible to drink. This one was also poured out. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. The coffee just couldn’t hide the apparent flaws in this batch of the base beer.
