4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours burnt orange with a large white head. Smells of spicy hops and rye spiciness. Taste is mildly bitter and quite spicy. Medium-bodied with a slick, wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Deep Ellum Rye Pils finishes with a spicy, floral punch.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Among the Pils I have most enjoyed (generally not my favorites), this brew corrects what I think is the normally off putting simplicity of a pils with the balanced bitter character of rye.

Someone asked me what I thought of this beer and I said it drink it isn’t it were free but wouldn’t pay for it. It tastes like your typical lager with a little more hops, a little hop profile and no yeast contribution.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big rye blast from my glad upon pouring. They call this a session beer? Plenty of flavor, especially for a pils: hearty grain, crisp carbonation, balanced hop bitterness. Pretty darn good for a pilsner.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy amber with a fine-bubbled cream-tan head. Malty aroma has a rye note and hints of cloves and caramel. Flavor has rye and malt notes with touches of cloves and hops plus a whisper of caramel. Firm, ragged, fizzy texture finishes a nice and subtly different pilsner.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce can. Pours a bright amber color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of honey and rye. Very light, clean and easygoing: rye spice, some light honey, earthy malt, light bitter hops meld with the rye. Good.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
from the can poured into Stella chalice: bronze-y orange color with some fairly well-sustained orange tinted off-white foam. spicy, piny aroma with some caramel. Rye and hops blend pretty seamlessly in the flavor. They begin to diverge in the finish, with hops taking on a sort of bitter aspirin tablet flavor and rye settling into it’s characteristic spicy earthy bite. The palate thins out quite a bit with some warmth so drink cold. Refreshing but not too complex.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a darker yellow color with white head. Aroma was rye, cracker and grassy hops. Flavor was similar, ryewasa bit subdued and overall a bland american pils.
