3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
We’ve had better stouts, but this one’s not bad at all. Probably wouldn’t buy this but certainly would accept it from a friend...or an enemy.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours nearly black with a dark tan head. Aroma is all chocolate. Very very chocolate tasting. Like a candy bar! There is a minor amount of caramel and malt, but not much. Its chocolate through and through. Some say its to a fault.. but how can you go wrong with chocolate?? Its a winner in my book. As long as you like it that is. Hyper chocolate!!

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This is the best stout I’ve had in a long time. I actually crave it. I don’t find it bitter at all, very good chocolate flavor.
On draft @ Brew Masters Pub in downtown Raleigh.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Olde Hickory. Pours a black color with off white head. Very chocolatey flavor with some roasty, malty sweetness. Alright.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft at Olde Hickory taproom. Pours clear, red-brown with a creamy beige head. Ripened dark fruits in the aroma, toasted brown bread and hints of chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with artificial chocolate, berries, sugar, light coffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lingering fake chocolate character, sugar syrup, caramel. A bit saccharin and insincere.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap @ Olde Hickory. Pours a hazy dark reddish appearance with a tan head. Some dark fruits in the nose. Caramel and brown sugar and chocolate also. Moderately to highly sweet. Tons of cocoa. A touch of earth and vanilla. Maybe a little too sweet but not horrible.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Being a fan of chocolate stouts I was excited to try this one, but ended up really disappointed. The aroma was decent, but the taste is heavy of cocoa to a fault, making it just overly bitter, rather than chocolate.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at Raleigh Times.
Poured a dark brown, almost black. Faint aromas of cocoa and coffee. Taste is anything but faint (and not in a good way). Tastes of a decent stout that has simply had cocoa powder mixed in.
Kind of disappointing as I am a big fan of choc stouts. Might be a bit better aged a year or two.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opaque black pour with one finger of dark tan head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma. Very very very Yoo Hoo ish. Graham cracker and light caramel notes show as well. Very very singular and chocolatey to a fault. Medium full body with a very light carbonation.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught. Hot damn this is awesome... Pours a near-black color with a thick tan head on it. Nose is very roasty and inviting. Taste is actually slightly sweet, which surprised me after the nose. I got some decent cocoa notes as well as the roasting coming through in the taste as well. Very smooth. I like this one.
