3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at the Microbar Beer Festival, Manchester, 2013. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Meaty old aroma. A bit of coffee and dark chocolate in there too. Flavours of coffee, chocolate and a smidgen of licorice. Quite nice.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Elysian Beer Festival on 11 January 2013. Very dark, near-black colour. No head to speak of. Modest condition. Chocolate is strong. Firm mouthfeel. Dry and bitter. Bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. Very decent.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest 13. Black with tan head. Oddly quite fruity for a stout, prunes came to mind with a hint of tartness. Bitterness from the roasted malts does come through later, a touch thinner than expected. Still an interesting beer. Reasonable.
