Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Gold/orange colour, bubbly white head. Earthy. It’s a little earthy, odd flavour. Bit of acidity. OK. Oatmeal?

Cask, Leicester 2010. Amber-gold with a thin but persistent fringe of bubbles. Grass, brown bread and thistle aroma. Instant and lingering creaminess off the oats, grass and wholemeal upfront, plenty of stewed bitterness for balance. Savoury and faintly briny in that peculiarly Scottish way. Clean and layered like a brown bread, Imperial Leather and grass cutting sandwich. That’s a compliment. I think.

cask at bow bar edinburgh ... golden amber ... light fruity hop nose .. dry hop ... liittle bitterr ... some soft malt fruits.
