UPDATED: DEC 8, 2012 Cask at Scottish Real Ale festival 2009 ... Black ... oh my god Chocolate milkshake nose totally ... huge soft very milky chocolate and sweet syrup ... bit over sweet... very odd ... they Whey adds something very odd... but its just so chocolaty ... tk2
black ... woody toffee nose ... lots of chocolate ... that odd milyness ... a little young today as fron celar ...
tk x ... cloisters .... black thin tan head ... soft chocolate roast ... roast malt ... light mily chocolate .... little charcoal ... this is just so MEEEEEEEE...

OK no real addition to notes but i sessioned this at Scottish Real Ale Festival 2010 ... It just such a drinkable porter... think hes dropped the Whey element to make it more drinkable but despite the fact that i prefer the balance as it currently stands ... i think the older more whey version was more destinct...
great solid roast malts ... nice chocolate .. good body ... love it

cask at cask and barrel ...deep black ... thin tan head ... soft sweet puff candi nose ... again soft mellow puff candi ... no where near as good as it has been in past 3.7
Bottle at home ... deep black ... small tan head ... soft sweet roast ... chocolate .. small amount of whey ... OH tooo fizzy ... dark malts .... chocolate ... whey... quite a lot of whey this time ... bringin whey levels up again ... pretty good aprt from carbonation 8 4 9 2 18 = 4.1

OK Craig. Here it is. You are no longer alone in the world of ratings of Deeside beers. Huge thanks for taking me Cloisters to try this. Thanks! Nice grainy flavor, like chewing on roasted barley. A bit of roastiness that blends in well some barley sweetness. Good and easy to drink.
