On cask at Andys. Deep dark brownish black in color with a fluffy off white head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Chocolatety roasty malty aroma. Caramel dark fruity notes. Roasty chocolatety malty flavor. Hoppy notes. Medium bodied. Finish is bitter and roasty. Well balanced and nice beer.

Poured from growler purchased at brewery. Aroma of dry cocoa, smoke and coffee. Solid black, thin tan head. Slightly burnt chocolate flavor, mildly sweet, like homemade brownies. Licorice and caramel notes. Buttery feel. Mellows as it warms. Excellent.

Tap at the brewery. Poured a dark caramel. Nose is chocolate with malt notes. Classic porter notes, chocolate compliments as opposes to over powers. Malt is solid the beer is nicely carbonted and easy to drink.

On tap at the brewery. Poured a deep dark brown with very little head. Just a bit of chocolate and hops in the nose, very sublte aroma to this one. Chocolate and roasted malts dominate the flavor, a touch of hop bitterness towards the end, again very subtle flavor. Very thin body, goes down extremely easy. Decent brew.

pours dull brown with no head. it has, strangely for chocolate porter, prune aroma of spice! the flavor is chocolately, but not too strong. sweet and smooth is the mouthfeel.

On cask at the Spuyten Duyvil in Brooklyn. Opaque, slightly watery, deep brown/black with a spitty beige head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, nuts, caramel and roasted malts. Flavor has some crackers, biscuits, vanilla, heavy milk chocolate obviously, some coffee. Finish is slightly watery and slightly chalky. Pleasing.

on tap at Defiant. Dark brown in color with a well retaining tan head and some yeast in suspension. Aroma has alot of chocolate, roast, a touch of dark fruit and lightly bready. Taste: Chocolate and roast in the forefront, some bready yeast, nice sweet malt body- medium-full. Balanced hop bitterness in he finish with touches of lingering roast. A well balanced, really nice porter.
