Bottle from Rockland Beverage split with Tommy on Christmas. Pours a deep reddish brown with a light caramel hue and small to medium beige head. Aroma is immediate red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar, with some spicy notes. Smells nice. Palate is a mix of spice, vegetable, dried fruit and malt. Earthy character to it. I wish it were a little more balanced or carbonated. Medium to heavy mouthfeel.

Bottle. Poured a rich copper color. Nose is sweet with Belgian yeast. Lots of fruit notes some fruity sweetness. Hints of chocolae and spice with a fairly creamy mouthful. The taste and feel of a classic Belgian dubbel with light spice notes. Nice.

Poured from big bottle. Nice aroma of toffee, malt, smoke, brown sugar. Solid mahogany color, tan head fades. Flavors of toffee, vanilla, spice, orange peel, dark honey, alcohol. Earthy, heady aftertaste. Nice feel- not too carbonated. A bit off at finish. Overall a fine winter brew - appropriately drank during blizzard of 12/26/2010.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 12/9/10
Aroma: The nose has some brown sugar, dark red fruits, a little orange, and holiday spices
Appearance: Pours a dark reddish-brown with a half finger of fluffy beige head and some lace
Flavor: The flavor is like the nose, it had lots of spicy and dark malt flavors
Palate: A medium bodied brew with slight warming feeling and fairly soft carbonation
Overall Impression:
This is a decent winter beer. It has a good amount of spice to it, and it’s kind of warm on the mouth, surprisingly so for a beer that’s only 7.5%. Anyway, decent stuff.

Draft. Pours a golden body with a white head. Sweet fruity esters, figs, pears, and some light tangerine notes. A bit sweet with a hint of pixy stick sugar an a mild citrus warming. A nice ale.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (3595) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 3, 2010
Tap at Blind Tiger. A lot of unrealized potential here. Poured jet black with no head. None. Decently rich aroma of dark fruits and malts and holiday spices. Flavor was sweet and rife with figs and raisins. Some licorice in there too. Medium in body with a syrupy mouthfeel. Almost no carbonation. Somewhat sticky on the finish with a pleasant, sweet aftertaste.
