Tap at Blind Tiger. Cloudy yellow beer. Fairly wild aroma. Lots of leathery/bretty aroma. Soft citrusy/lemony aroma with lots of dry bretty funk. Flavour is fairly complex with barnyardy funk, lemony/green apple, and lightly lactic character. Some soft wheaty spiciness in back. Could use a bit more acidity, but the wildness is quite lovely.

Tasted blind. Nose of banana, clove, moderate alcohol presence, and some light brett funk. Some honey, fruit and prickly and tart peach rind and grapefruit is tasted, with some grapefruit hop notes as well. Sticky, almost syrupy, with moderately strong alcohol present, which I find odd now that I see it’s listed at 6.5%... but overall it’s a pretty nice beer.

Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 28, 2007
Headless from the start, very tough to excuse, looking flat. Opaque golden body. Tart, very bready, sourdough reminiscent nose, but with a vinegar component that does not fit. Herbal and rather green hops. The yeastiness fails to be that interesting despite a bretty tang. Sulphury water underneath exaggerates on the mineral side. Nope, too many things I’d like to tweak for me to give it a good score and the carbonation does not feel saison-like while the attenuation stays pretty limited.

Poured a hazy golden color with a large white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, orange peel, earth, brett, funk, and grape. Taste of citrus fruits, light green apple, tart grape, yeast, light spices, and orange peel. Gritty mouthfeel.

Tap @ SD. Poured a hazy golden yellow color with an off-white head. The aroma had a mild tartness and even a little leather funk in it. The flavor was citrusy lemon and yeasty. The was light and very refreshing. A could put away a few of these.

Tap at Blind Tiger (and then later in the day at The Diamond - yea, I liked this beer) - hazy glowing orange beer - zero head - a ind of oily film floating on top - funky, semi-sour, barnyardy, wild, flemish sour sort of aroma, with notes of peach - soft and earthy - very tangy, with medium tartness - apple skins and slight white wine grapes - light funkiness - some grainy notes near the end - the finish has some phenolics and apple skin/cider flavors - unique and tasty.

Bottle at brewery. Very lively, nice looking beer. Grapefruit color, dense bubbled. Taste has a musty basement thing going on. Taste has some tangerine as well.

Tasted blind, courtesy of Stine. Opaque, yellow body with a small, off-white head. Nose is pineapple, citrus, peach and light horseblanket. The flavor is lightly tart with bread, apricot, pineapple and floral hops. Medium body is very soft with moderate carbonation. Terrific beer.

750mL bottle, courtesy of Stine, Thanks, Eben! Pours a cloudy, white grapefruit color; whitish head with patchy lacing. Bready, tart grapefruit, and a light peppery note in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: grapefruit, mildly tart citrus, and bready notes throughout; a very drinkable, pleasant saison. Medium, finish showing bread and grapefruit.
