JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 15, 2007 Cask at Blind Tiger. Deep golden beer, no head. Aroma is very hoppy with bright fresh pine and pineapple character over a soft pale malt backbone. A touch of higher alcohols and some lightly oxidized maltiness. The hops, however, don’t show any staleness, but loads of lemon/grapefruit citrus. Decent hoppy finish with lots of lingering citrusy hop flavour. The malts were probably better when the beer was fresh, but it’s still very good. There are little yellow hop glands at the bottom of the glass, which goes to show that they didn’t spare any hops in this one. golubj (1028), Redwood City, California, USA Oct 7, 2007 Cask at the Blind Tiger. Aroma of some lemon. The flavor is of a grainy / earthy malt and lemon-grass hops (but not too grassy). Also, it is hard to beat the mouthfeel of cask beer. It was good.
