2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Tonkun (319) - New York, USA - DEC 25, 2012Tap. Golden pour with minimal head. Slight grass and fruit. Caramel and tea. Quite a bit of hop. Not bad but not exciting.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 coldbrewky (1316) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - APR 28, 2013
Sampled at TAPNY. I would not describe this IPA as monstrously packed with hops. Moderately packed would be more appropriate. Well balances and easily consumable rounds this package out nicely. Floral nose, hop covered malts with a biting finish, leaves the taste buds wanting some more.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pushkinwow (1338) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 13, 2012
Sample at 20th Vermont Brewers Festival. A hazy and somewhat dark amber with faint white head. Odd aroma - more floral hoppiness then anything else but it doesn’t overwhelm everything, get some malt, caramel, and a bit of orange zest. High carbonation, moderate body, mouthfeel seems slightly off and overall unbalanced but there is a nice dryness at the end.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 HoppityHop (158) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 14, 2012
All bitterness, no malt backbone, I mean NONE. Pours a little blonde for an IPA, but really what does color have to do with flavor? Big pillowy head is a plus, except when you want a pint of beer and not 10 ounces of beer and 5 ounces of foam. Slight aroma of woody hops but there’s no flavor. Strictly coarse bitterness and nothing more. Very watery for an IPA or anything else of this supposed strength. Then again, after drinking a pint on an empty stomach, I doubt it’s anywhere near 6.8%. Sadly, another let down from a very hit or miss brewery.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 6, 2012
A golden IPA with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt and floral hops, nice and smooth. In mouth, biscuit malt with British hops, oily mouthfeel, not bad. On tap at TAP NY, April 28, 2012.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 PhillyCraft (1964) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 27, 2012
On tap at Expo, poured a caramel color. Not much head or lacing. Aroma was slightly bitter and metalic. Taste was the same with only a little malt coming through.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 scarletfire65 (734) - Rockaway Park, New York, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Tasted at the NYC Craft Beer Fest. Sweet floral nose, lots of caramel, tootsie roll, toffee. Sweet and chewy with a floral and bone dry finish. Strange malt profile for an IPA, but interesting and good.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 keithk (15) - ny, New York, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Cask at DBA. Not sure if I loved or hated this weird beer. Soapy, papery, very unusual. Nice hops, nice body, nice aroma, sweet and mango/orangey. Intriguing, and in the end I didn’t want a second. Curious to try this fresh at the brewery rather than casked.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BiddleBrau (766) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Hazy, darker golden with decent dense head. Hoppy bite, fully palate and fuller body. Aroma is dense, malty and hoppy. Not overly sweet nor overly hoppy character. Decent.
