mcferc4 (31), Essex Fells, New Jersey, USA May 29, 2008 A decent porter. Solid head (poured straight out of the conditioning tank, which is a pretty sweet touch). Notes of roasted chocolate - my girlfriend said it smelled like Foothills Sexual Chocolate... I tried to explain the difference between a Porter and a Stout and gave up when I realized that I wasn’t quite sure about it myself). Solid taste, not mindblowing, but very drinkable. Roasted chocolate, smoky malt. Smooth, but a bit thin. A decent brew. Eyedrinkale (3091), Beer Town, New York, USA Nov 24, 2007 Draft at brewery. Not much in the head retention area, with flavors of malt, chocolate and fresh grains. Not much else going on. Kinda of sweet not too smoky. haukur (644), Reykjavik, Iceland May 30, 2007 750ml bottle which exploded! took some minutes to get something out of it. Roast, malt, slight tiny hint of cocoa and fruits. Nice porter, a bit acid is it´s only downfall, other than that, this was quite enjoyable kenb (921), Oregon, USA May 22, 2007 Updated: May 24, 2007750ml oz bottle from Myst Swap 2.0 (thanks Lou18!). ok, took 20 minutes to get the cork off this bad boy..i suck at corks, specially with a swiss army knife corksrew deal. This thing has a huge head. Bottle says it was primed with IPA. Nose is both roasty and hoppy. Taste is the same with some roasted grains and an abundance of piney/citrusy hops. A bit of smokiness and a little coffee. Body is medium, carbonation is excessive. Is a good beer, but not a porter. More like an IPA with some porter characteristics. moejuck (1111), Ohio, USA May 4, 2007 Thanks to dickinsonbeer for the bottle. Roasted malt aroma with some light coffee. Almost black body with a thin head. Full palate for a porter and nice and creamy. Good solid coffee flavor up front--not bitter at all really. Dry finish. Tastey.
