Tap at Blind Tiger. Very light. Pours a light gold with minimal head. Nose of Belgian yeast and slight bubble gum. Flavor was mildly sweet with just hints of funk. Very clean and refreshing finish. Low carbonation and light in body. Easy drinking but not what I expect from a Belgian strong.

Nice and light carbonation. Some wood and alcohol with some grapes and skin. Maybe Pinot and some citrus. A bit tart, not bad.

at the source. Cloudy yellow, very small head. Aroma reminds me of a good belgian saison, citrus aroma, acid sourness. Taste is a bit acid at first, but balances out in the finish. Citrus fruits, maybe some grapes. Very good saison clone and something I could easily have a few bottles off. Thanks Brian and Neill

Poured a hazy yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was earthy with notes of leather, citrus and mint. Citrus lemon wheaty flavor with an earthy character. Light-medium bodied.

Sampled at Paulís Hoboken Gathering. Light yellow in color with an aroma of funky blue cheese. Flavor is vanilla with marshmallow. The best Defiant beer Iíve had so far.

hophead75 (2008) - Largo, Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Sampled at Paulís Hoboken Gathering. Hazy light golden/blonde in color. Aroma was very bad- stinky gym socks, sulfur, rotting grapes. Taste isnít quite as bad as the aroma, with alot of brett and funk- some honey sweetness and musty yeast, some sulphur. Although it is great that the brewer is doing alot of experimental beers, this one didnt seem to work out.

Sampled at Dickinsonbeerís Hoboken gathering - something went horribly wrong here - those that got the top half of this bottle really liked it, but those of us that got the bottom half were subjected to a beer the smelled like sulfur and acid-soaked flowers - the flavor had some honey and floral notes, but the finish was all rotten egg - how there was this much variation from ONE BOTTLE is beyond me.
