Courtesy of Lou18. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thin white ring of bubbles. Smells grassy with some oranges, lemons, bananas and yeast. Tastes of oranges, pilsner malt, wild flowers, pepper and touches of sugar. Mouthfeel is citrussy with a sweet finish.

Very nice beer. Yellowy-gold in color...soft palate and honeyish start, with a typical tripel finish. Great effort by the brewer, and would recommend this beer to try if you get the chance.

Thanks to Dickinsonbeer for this one, hand bottled. Hazy deep golden pour with 1-finger white head. Aroma of grainy pale malt, candi sugar, apricot, funky yeast, spice, and orange marmalade. Tastes pale malty and candi sugary, with hints of apricot, floral dryness, funky yeast, spices. The palate is medium heft, very carbonated, and it gets even more citrusy and apricotty as it warms, with the candi sugar coming out more as well as the florals. Very unique, as it tasted different with every sip.

From an aged 750. Yellow/orange body with a fizzy 2 finger head. Nose was of course yeast, with some banana and spices. Taste was a bit chalky and I wonder what % is, this grew nicer as it warmed.

On tap at Defiant and also from a growler brought home. Hazy golden/yellow color with a medium sized white head. Yeasty, fruity aroma of clove, banana, and granny smith apples. Mildly sweet fruity flavor, with the above mentioned apples and light banana. Tastes like a cross between a Hefe and Tripel, with lots of yeasty fruitiness and some spice. Alcohol comes on as it warms a bit.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2008 Re-rate: based upon shared 750 at the brewery. Hazy golden in color with a huge frothy off white head. Aroma: Musty and lightly bready belgian yeast with alot of spice (coriander) and citrus and light pear esters. Taste: dry as a bone with alot of yeast, pear and citrus, lightly grainy pils malt and a light honey sweetness....very light metallic notes. Finishes very dry with yeast, fruit and spices. Awesome Tripel.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 16, 2007
On tap at Defiant, but also bought 2 growlers becasue I thought this was one of the better beers Niel had on at the time. Pours a very hazy light gold with a fluffy lingering white head and some lace. Aroma is fruity with some banan and apple, almost like a german hefe, then turns a bit dirty and yeasty and then you get some traditional clove and spice. Nice full body and flavor- moslty sweet, but not cloying and balanced with spice and yeasty fruitiness- more apple and pear- actually, lots of pear all the way through, light orange zest on the tip of the tongue and finishes lightly sweet with a good aftertaste. This is a great interpretation of a Tripel, although it is kind of unlike any other tripels I have had. Tasty beer. Could be re-classified as an imperial witbier now that I try more of it.
