Thanks to Dickinsonbeer for this one, hand bottled. Hazy deep golden pour with 1-finger white head. Aroma of grainy pale malt, candi sugar, apricot, funky yeast, spice, and orange marmalade. Tastes pale malty and candi sugary, with hints of apricot, floral dryness, funky yeast, spices. The palate is medium heft, very carbonated, and it gets even more citrusy and apricotty as it warms, with the candi sugar coming out more as well as the florals. Very unique, as it tasted different with every sip.

Really a very impressive and quenching tripel from Defiant. Hit all the right notes for me while keeping the alcohol heat down. Thumbs up

750 ml bottle that popped and gushed. Took about 30 minutes to get a pint poured. Big big big fluffy egg-white head. Yellow and hazy. Spicy nose. Very spicy bite on the tongue, crisp, long lasting. Horse-blanket, grassy and dry and tart on the sides of the tongue. A bit watery but not distractinly so. Overcarbonation may create the extra bite.

Boom. These bottles are exploding everywhere. Watch your eyes. Overly carbonated. Aroma has some simple zesty citrus with some grain. Taste is effervescent and some spice with a little citrus. I hear the new batch are not bottle bombs.

Aroma is lots of dry straw and yeasty bread. Gorgeous beer, more cloudy than any other I’ve seen and yellow/orange with massive tight white head. Flavor is exceptionally dry and grain like. The carbonation is over the top tiny bubbles, this guy has the potential to be a gusher. Nice beer. Thanks Defiant. 2009 22oz.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a huge fluffy white head, pour slowly! Aroma has an abundance of bread yeast with a slight floral hint. Flavor is tart, sour candy sugar with pineapple and a touch of sweet malt, finishes very dry with clove and other spice ending it. Despite the huge head the overall carbonation is not overdone. Decent brew.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet fruits (particularly apple), sweet tarts, bubblegum, and lots of spices (clove and pepper). Flavor of sweet malt, some corn notes (tortilla chips?), and a sweet fruity and spicy finish (chiles?). Interesting for sure and super tasty. I really like this one! Solid triple, great beer. I really need to get more of this... 8/4/9/5/17 (4.3/5)
