2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20 omnivore (270) - San Francisco, USA - APR 6, 2003
Boston Beer Summit 2003: This had a strong watermellon aroma, and I rated it really high because it was PLEASING to smell, but in retrospect, it wasn't pleasing in a beer way. It was pleasing in a Jolly Rancher way. The flavor, however had a very bitter, hoppy attack. I think it was almost TOO bitter for what they seemed to be trying to accomplish with the beer. Is it supposed to be sweet, or is is supposed to be bitter. Unfortunately the bitter overpowered the watermellon flavors until the very end, and you didn't quite get to enjoy it long enough.

Draught @ Holyoke Brewfest: All watermelon nose. Golden pale amber hue. Small white head. Pleasant and easy drinking. Sweet, all flavored watermelon. Obviously an extract...Definately drinkable, and fairly unique.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 vwsteggie (684) - Paxton, Massachusetts, USA - APR 5, 2003
Has a golden color and a nice watermellon smell. Taste is of watermellon, but it finishes pretty flat. Overall this was a pretty good fruit beer, but the watermellon flavor finished to quickly.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 On tap Boston Beer Summit '02: Let me preface this by saying that I don't like fruit beers. This one I liked. Big watermelon aroma without smelling fake. Good malts back up the fruity taste. I do want to taste this again to make sure all the other beer I had that day isn't talking, but I think I found a unique solid fruity brew.
