2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Plastic bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Stas. Amber-brown. Aroma of caramel, rye bread, a citric note. Sweetish-sourish flavor with caramel, citrus, some bread, rather dry for a kvass. Quite OK for a kvass.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
2L PET bottle (JaamaTurg,Tallinn)
Slightly dirty savoury aroma, some sharpness of carbon dioxide, and a little bit dishwatery. Dark, but fizzy. Pleasant malty body, lemony sharpness, other acidic bite too. Thinish watery palate. Carbonation affects the taste too. Never had a kvass okroshka, and never had an okroshka kvass either. To be honest, I’m more a sucker for the sweetness when there’s a level of carbonation like this. It’s lacking the raisons too, and other things I like. Drinkable, and not bad, but not good either. Will be good for rehydration after doing some gardening, I’m sure.

2l plastic bottle. Clearish dark brown color. Nice fizzy tan head appears. Bready, peach, slight roast in aroma. Bready, somewhat sour, slight caramel in flavor. Quite pleasant to drink.
