Thanks to Mora2000. The smell is very caramel, butterscotch like, sweet, and candy. The look is amber in color. The taste is really sweet, and candy like. Better than expected.

2l plastic bottle. Clear brown color. Tiny tan head. Bready, sugary, plastic notes in aroma. Sweet, slightly buttery, caramel, lemon in flavor. Quite drinkable.

Plastic bottle from Seymour, Summer Secret Santa 2012. Pours dark reddish brown color with no head. Fruity and malty aroma. Tastes like a diet fruit drink. Light, watery body with no carbonation. Weird stuff. Thanks Seymour.

phaleslu (6204) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2012
Another weirdo Russian beer from a plastic jug- thanks, Seymour! Pours a dark brown amber color with a small tan ring for a head. Aroma of sweetener, dairy, chocolate, and toast. Flavor of sugary diet cola, artificial sweetener. Light-bodied, with a sweet mouthfeel and low carbonation. Weird. Not the worst thing ever, but weird.

seymour (1391) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - FEB 21, 2012
Tasted from plastic 2 Liter bottle at 2nd STL Ratebeer Gathering. Poured a clear, dark reddish brown color with small beige head. A very sweet kvass or unfinished "small-beer" popular across Russia and other Eastern European cultures. Somewhat malty, but not very beer-like. More reminscent of Diet Coke. Sugary, somewhat artificially so, highly carbonated, sharp and metallic. Definitely interesting, but not something I’d drink on a regular basis.

A: The pour is dark brown with a definite red highlight to it and hardly any head. S: As with all examples of kvass I have had, it’s sweet. Quite a bit of caramel and toffee with some rye and dark fruits. Interestingly, there is a light roast to it. T: Starts off with a cola-like flavor. Lots of sweet prunes and sugar as well as caramel and bread. Just a mild rye flavor to this particular kvass. M: Low in carbonation with light body. O: Another mediocre kvass. Wouldn’t have this again.

Quack-Duck (7759) - Down South, GERMANY - MAY 17, 2011
2l PET-bottle. Deep brown colour with a red glow, fluffy beige head, quickly collapsing. Coke-like nose with some fruit. Sweet, slightly sour, grainy and fruity, dark dried fruit, citrus fruit, caramel, chocolate, coke... Light-bodied and rather refreshing.

2 liter plastic bottle, best by date of 15/08/11. Served in a pint glass, the brew pours a dark ruby red/brown color that you can see through when held up to the light. Not much of any head at all, but what head is there is a tan color. Not much lacing either. Aroma is very sweet, it smells like molasses, dark bread, dark fruit, and some toffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, it tastes like dark bread, molasses, cola, dark fruit (raisins), and some caramel. Like the aroma, it tastes very sweet. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit thin but it’s also slick with low carbonation. If you like sweet beers, then you’ll probably like this. Not a bad overall brew, but it took a little while to finish the bottle myself because of the sweetness. Worth a try, it’s certainly different.

One liter plastic bottle courtesy of ktrillionare. Pours a dark brown with a decent looking tan had and no lacing. Smell is a good amount of sweetness with a bit of molasses and brown sugar. Taste is similar with a bit of rye. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with okay carbonation. Drinkability is on the lower side. A bit cloying and quite strange. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-26-2010

(1L plastic screw-top bottle best by 8-4-10 thanks to Mora2000) clear very dark brown with no bubbles. Nose of raisin bran, brown sugar and caramel. Taste of raisin, very sweet, bran, with a watery body. Thin on flavor, lingers of cola.
