Bottle at Untertürkheim, BsAs. Not really a porter, more of a brown ale, but a tasty enough beer. Dark brown in colour, some earthy maltiness, then chocolate, caramel, toffee and dryness make themselves known in the taste. The finish has the same flavours but with a slight sourness - not sure this is intentional, but if it is then I suppose Porters were meant to be sour....

Bottled at Untertürkheim, February 2007. Opaque black color with a medium light tan head. Aroma is raisiny, some spice, very perfumey. Acrid taste, some chlorine, bland, faint flavor, a let down. As it warms there is some chocolate and resinous hops, maybe too resinous. Medium to light MF and an almost non existant aftertaste. A bit too watery, boring and uninspiring, flawed and forgettable porter attemp.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2007 Bottled at Untertürkheim, Buenos Aires. Completely black with brief pale brown head. Really roasty with some coffee and toasted bread. Fairly dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel and a dash of butterscotch. Lightlyfruity. Salty finish with fairly low bitterness. Well made, but a bit basic.
