3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery 11/26/2004 Delafield Brewhaus Pewaukee Porter has an appearance of darkness with a decent head and sheets of lace. The aroma is sweet and roasted. The flavor is very roasted, coffee, dark chocolate and nice hops. The palate is rich and smooth. Overall, very nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
At Delafield: Slightly red in the light, otherwise brown. Had a little smokiness, but also an amount of chocolate flavors I would associate with a stout. The hops were of a nice straight bitter nature. It had a fairly dry finish. I like it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at brewpub: Ruby red tint around the edges of a dark flat brown beer. Peaty and chocolatey nose. Malts are HUGE here, much more than your average brewpub porter. Body is rich and thick. Notes here reflect that this may be a beer that is being reworked, my sample (August 2004) seemed rich and full of great chocolatey and peaty malt flavors. Finish was chalky and dry, some bitterness included. this is a fine porter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dusty looking dark brown with some red tints. Lasting off-white creamy head. Smoked hop aroma. Big hop taste in this beer. Piney... creamy... citrusy.... with a sweet coffee finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2004 Very dark brown body with a creamy off-white head that leaves a solid sheet of lacing. Dry coffee roast aroma with dandelion hop backing. The flavor is quite hoppy for a brewpub beer. The roast background was expected but the strong dandelion/grassy hops make this something different. Medicinal quality to the finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown with a white lacey head. Light roasted aroma and flavor. Smooth, but a little thin for a porter.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A very "light Porter" if there is such a thing. In fact the first porter where I could see through the glass. Slightly sweet, could use some more bitterness.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
No head to speak of, translucent dark brown body is lighter than the usual porter, very slight chocolate nose, decent semi-sweet flavor, low on hops, somewhat thin finish. OK.
