On tap at Delafield Brewhaus. Poured very deep amber with a well-retained deep beige head.. looked good! The aroma picked up sweet, toasty whiskey all over, but in a good way.. caramel, vanilla, and brown sugar beneath.. a tad skewed toward the booze, but it was enjoyable. The flavor found tangy oak and whiskey on the fore with warm caramel and lesser chocolate rolling in behind.. vanilla and more caramel surrounded.. warmth emanated outward until long after the drink.. well-balanced. Medium-plus bodied and warm on the palate.. sweet with a lot of barrel influence.. tasty stuff!

Pours to a dark brown/black body with little to no head. The aroma is super caramelized with some light vanilla and milk chocolate. The flavor is sweet caramelized grain, vanilla, subtle oak, and chocolate. Sweet but not sticky body that was medium bodied. I thought it was listed at 10.5%.

Overly sweet & syruppy lots & lots of malts & syrups that dominate the flavor. Palate is too thin for the size of the beer

12/27/09 On draught at the Delafield Brewhaus. On trips to Wis with wife we would stop here for a bite to eat. Well this time she was with me in spirit after my brother picked me up from airport. Good vanilla oak wood barrel aroma with some sweet notes.Dark body with tan head. The sweetness was mellow and a good dose of vanilla with med-thick body texture. Sweet shot of vanilla flavored whiskey on the finish.Good sipping brew as I pointed my glass to the heavens for Wendy.

On draught at the Delafield Brewhaus in a brandy snifter. Pours a semi-clear dark copper colored brew with an average sized beige head that has some nice retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of a light tawny port, hint of caramel, bourbon and some peat. Taste is medium to full bodied, some alcohol presence with flavors of sweet caramel malt, floral hops, bourbon and a wee bit of peat. Finish is semi-sweet, a touch of metallic from the high alcohol presence with a short lived caramel and bourbon aftertaste. Nice sipp’n scotch ale without the scotch.

Dark brown with a smaller, heavy cream colored head. Bourbon vanilla and sweet malt aromas. Mild caramel and fudge start. These flavors lead to an interesting almond joy finish with Frangelico and coconut. Seems sweet like, most of the barrel aged brews, especially at this brewery. Long toasty linger.
