33cl Bottle from ABC Beers. Dark red/purple-is brown colour, beige head. Aroma of clove, forest fruits, berries, something medicinal/cough syrup, sweet. Flavour is sweet, spicy, cloves, forest fruits, something herbal, brown sugar, berry-lemonade, bittersweet finish. Light to medium-bodied. OK.

imdownthepub (10460) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2013
Bottled, 330ml from C1000 Supermarket, Delft, Netherlands. Brown with ruby hue and white head. Quite a sweetish, malty beer, fruity with a slight bubblegum note. There is a warming alcohol, wine like character, filling, raisins, reasonable depth. Quite pleasant.

PotjeBier (1732) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 26, 2013
Bottle @ PRZH Winterfest 2013, paired with goatcheese with cumin & cloves. Dark brown color. Off white head. Aroma’s: malty sweet, herbal/spices, sour fruit. Flavor is medium sweet, herbal/spicy, medium bitter. Not much going on in the finish. Went well with the cheese though.

Poured a murky brown with a small white head. Aroma of spice and red berries. Flavour similar with a sweet short aftertaste.

Benzai (8530) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2012
33cl bottle shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark red brown color with a small off-white head that leaves a slight lacing. Smell and taste malts, some sweetness, lightly raisins. Low to medium body and carbonation. No, not good at all.

Bottle thx to benzai. Amber to ruby colour, decent off-white head. Smells caramel, brown sugar, sweet, cinnamon, herbs and spices. Tastes ’pepernoten’, brown sugar, cinnamon, hwrbs and spices, sweet, caramel. Don’t like this. Medium body, soft carbo.

Mostly filtered brown body with red glow and a thin frothy tan head. Cookie spices, sweet rye bread, old hops. Fairly bitter, spicy body with malty sweetness to sort of balance. A heat stays there from the spices, which is the reason I never really like gruit-based beers. This isn’t going to change my mind, although the darker malts make it better than this brewer’s Gruyt Bier. Slightly better as it warms up, too. (33cl bottle)

Clear amber beer, thick creamy head. Soft palate. Sweetish wheat malt. Froth and creamy. Subtle fruit and spice flavours, not easy to pin down. Finished soft with more lightly spiced wheaty malt.
