Brewed by women, this heavy blonde beer has 8.5% ABV and second fermentation in the bottle. This beer has a pale blonde colour and fine, white creamy and lacing foam. The aroma is very balanced, with a fruity and flowery background and a first impression of chardonnay, that further evolves to a spicy, mild hop aroma. The flavour is very balanced with fruity notes of apple and chardonnay grapes. Deliria has a fine, mildly bitter aftertaste and a wonderful, round mouth feeling with a nice evolution.

Specialty beer, brewed once a year on the occasion of International Womenís Day

Tap at Gollem, Antwerp. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a thin white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is dry crisp yeast, alcohol, light caramel, honey. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry yeast, light toffee, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tremens lite !

The "ladiesí beer" in the Delirium family, vintage bottle at Kulminator. Frothy, snow white, lacing head over a clear, pale golden blonde beer with strong fizz. Aroma of iron (head stabilizing agents!), bubblegum, cereals, cooked cabbage (DMS), stale sweat, plastic, grass, banana, white bread. Grainy main taste with fairly strong acetaldehyde (green apple and raw rhubarb), strong íBelgianí banana (isoamylacetate) too, bubblegummy even, strong carbo, doughy and lightly bready malt base, metallic, grassy hop bitterish finish with warming, íjeneverí-like alcohol and plastic-like phenolic accent. More grainy and íDuvel-likeí still than the regular version, but not necessarily better; I applaud the fact that this was made in honour of International Womenís Day of course, but it remains a rather bland, metallic, dull Huyghe beer and it could not convince me, Iím afraid.

Great aroma which is a bit fruity, with possibly a hint of roses. Impressive carbonation as well. Mouthfeel is very similar to the normal Delirium Tremens, being a strong beer with a very clean and smooth presence. Taste-wise I found there's not so much going on (in terms of complexity); the strength, smoothness and carbonation dominate over the flavour. That said, it's still an enjoyable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle:   Pale golden, bright, lively carbonation, moderate frothy white head, fairly nice lacing.   Bright musty nose, soft bubbley breadiness, with a slightly artificial sweetened background.   The backside reminds me of some fake sugar substitute, leaves a coating on the tongue.   BURP!   This one has fairly strong carbonation.   Has a straw/hay sort of grassiness to it on the backside.   Its like a muted Belgian Blonde with bits of Pilsner mixed in.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Also comes across as a bit dusty.   Crisp, but has an odd sweetness, or perhaps not enough sweetness as it seems overly grassy.   As Blondes go, its a bit warming but a little more grassy than others.

Iím a sucker for new Delirium beers so thatís why I grabbed it. Pours a clear gold color with a foamy white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is lightly sweet with a hint of lemony citrus. Light flavor with bitterness, CO2 bite, and some Belgian yeast. Fine.
