Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Delirium Nocturnum, sounds scary. There’s probably a swedish Death-Metal band going on by the same name. Mahogany body, lots of yeast chunks and a medium beige head. Fruity, very fruity. Prunes, apples, grapes, cherries. A little sourness and woody with a light Flemish Sour note. The rest of the beer is rather straightforward but I must that its fruity character is pretty complex. Feels very smooth and round in mouth. Some caramel as it warms-up. Medium hop presence with a light citrusy finish. Typical lively Belgian carbonation.

This is now my favorite beer, I loved it. The color was a dark reddish-brown and the head was light brown. The flavor had a hint of caramel but was not too sweet.

Bruges-07. Pours a nice dark reddish brown with nice carbonation bubbles making their way to the top of the glass. The aroma was mostly a mixture of fruit, caramel, and sugar. The flavour is largely dark fruit with some sweet sugar notes toward the end. Alcohol and yeast somewhat noticeable. I like this one much better than Delerium Tremens.

Dark redish color, very sweet. Similar to the last guy, I got a distinct ’fruit dipped in fondue with a very fizzy coke’ flavor. WHAT?

[Sampled with Erik.] Copperdark with lots of yeast floating around in the bowl after a too much fast pouring. Notes of alcohol, some fruit, sweetness, yeast and dryness.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2011 33cl bottle, bought in Belgium. Opaque, dark redwood coloured beer, with a small, foamy head. The smell is full, creamy and fresh with hints of strawberry, chocolate and banana. The taste is quite bitter with hints of sweetness. Some apples. The palate is fizzy warmth mixed with solid, dark-beer bitterness. Subtle cherries. A surpirsing mix of tastes which feels a bit like fruits dipped in chocolate fondu mixed with very fizzy coke. Reminiscent of stout.

Dark brown small tan head. Strong aroma of sugary fruits. Fruity and metallic in taste. Nothing special.

From the bottle. Aroma is peppery, clovey, fruity phenols and esters forward followed by light caramel, orange peel and dried apricot. Appearance is a hazy dark brown with a well retained off white head and great lacing. Flavor is sweet fruity malt forward, with dried fruit, alcohol, very low bittering hops, pear and a slight resinyness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, high carb evident with low bite and good warmth. This used to be my favorite beer. It’s still excellent, just has to open up a little.
