2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz. Bottle: Aroma is sweet and fruity (plums, grapes, cherries). Also a bit malty and yeasty. Aroma is a bit tart. Poured a dark brown/ruby with a hint of orange. Big, foamy, tan head lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Cloudy and almost opaque. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet and not bitter. Notes of cherries, dark fruits, raisins, yeast, and a lot of alcohol. Strange fruity aftertaste I can’t identify. Medium to full body. Fizzy carbonation. Short astringent finish is not pleasant. Overall, looks and smells much better than it tastes.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Vintage 2004 750ml bottle. Pours a deep brown with lots of dark amber when held to the light. Medium fluffy/bubbly tan head that left hints of lacing. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, Belgian yeast, some toffee, grapes, sweet maltiness and hints of cork/oxidation. Flavor of caramel, dark fruits, candi sugar, Belgian yeast and hints of spiciness, some bitter chocolate and hints of hop bitterness which was surprising for the age of the beer and the style. Glad I finally got around to cracking this one open.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
750ml brown bottle made to look ceramic. Translucent dark copper-red-brown body with chunks of yeast floating in int and a couple inches of light tan head. Scent is complex, including citrus, yeast, chocolate, caramel, and nut, among other things. If the aroma were stronger, it would be perfect IMO. Tastes initially fruity and yeasty, with roasty caramel and chocolate on the finish. Slight nutty and woody qualities round out the flavor. Light-to medium bodied, very refreshing with a fair bit of carbonation. Alcohol is hardly noticeable in either the flavor or mouthfeel. Wow. This beer is superb, damn near perfect. Probably my new favorite beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
This one poured a dark brown with no head. Much more carbonated than I remembered with a mild malt sweetness and some yest hints.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I enjoyed this beer a little more than the tremens. I don’t usually drink belgian beers, but with this beer as well as the tremens I might have to rethink this stance

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not as good as the tremens. the palate is on the thin side, but there is significant malt sweetness, pears, and apple in the aroma. Flavor has some alcohol taste, and just a hint of yeast. Light brown color and a a large head.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep brown with creamy, huge tan head. Fruity, yeasty aroma with some deeper barnyard notes. Big mix of flavors with caramel malts, candied sugar, dark fruits and light chocolate. Thick and creamy with a sweet aftertaste. Overall, smooth, fruity-yeasty and a little smoky. Really interesting.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow talk about a head on a beer. The head towers out of the glass, I couldn’t even pour the whole bottle (33cl) with a medium pour.
It has a great alchoholic nose with hints of honey and chocolate. The taste is a little dull compared to the nose with a little chocolate and malty sweetness attached, but little of the alchohol shows which makes it very drinkable. The color on this brew is quite impressive with a rich dark amber hue.
The taste falls a little short as opposed to the nose, but a great brew nonetheless. This is a beer that I could drink more than one of and propably get into a little trouble with.
