COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Draft. Had this plenty of times, finally got around to rating it. Dark brown, ruby notes, decent head faded away. Aroma of dark fruits. Flavor is complex, with notes of dark cherries and Pepsi cola. not as smooth or full bodied as I recall, possibly a side effect of being draft versus bottle. Still quite enjoyable.

Dark Brown. Strong, alcoholic aroma of chocolate, coffee, dark malts, dark fruits, strawberries and bourbon. Potent, poorly hidden alcohol, strong bourbon taste among other things like chocolate, coffee, herbs and dark fruits.

Dark brown beer with red shine and fluffy ivory colored head. Aromaís of expresso coffee, dried fruits, chesnuts, and a little hint of fresh fennel. Round malty taste with again coffee hints and touches of dried fruits that ends with a and herbal accents. Afthertaste ends with a sweet-bitterness of burned malts.

A unique tasting beer, with an interesting blend of flavors, not all that bad. Itís really hard to describe the dominance of any one particular taste, overall it provides an array of sensations ... I was hoping it would be a little better, but itís pretty good.

Pretty dark brown with a reddish/mahogany hue. Lasting creamy tan head. Had a granny smith apple and malty sweet aroma. Nutty fruit taste with a slight lemon bitterness. Thin mouthfeel and a little too fizzy for me.Not too bad overall.

Deep brown with rich off white head...smelled sweet, malts and caramel...taste was mild dark fruits and caramel with dry alcohol finish...pretty good, but not crazy as far as complexity...

Had this bottled. Very thick (as thick as a rootbeer float), pale orange head, cloudy rusty brown appearance. Very smooth and slightly sweet with flavors of caramel and fruit, with a definate aftertaste of alcohol. Not bad.

Very dark brown color with a huge, thick tan head. Aroma is very sweet, malty, hints of caramel and lemon. Flavor is sweet, with a definite alcohol presence, malty and dry, with a smooth finish.

Murky dark brown. Beige head lasts about an eighth of an inch and leaves a nice sheet of lace. Nose is mild, a bit of raisin and not much else. Entirely quaffable but thatís due to a rather less than assertive flavor profile and a slightly dead palate. Some malty sweetness, a touch of fruit and a hint of bitterness in the finish is all we have here. Not bad at all. In fact, itís quite drinkable but certainly not on par with the best of the Belgians.

Bottle @ ōlbaren, Copenhagen. Dark brown body with a nice red tint. Has a medium tan head, looks good. Aroma of dark fruits, prunes, a bit port like, a nice alcohol smell and a nice fresh fruityness. Very fruity flavor, prunes once again and a pleasant shot of alcohol. Good one.
