COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Spicy, musty malt aroma. Smelled a little like old clothes, but the spiciness dominated. Brown with a big fluffy belgian head. Less sweet than many Belgian strong ales and the spicy notes that are present are muted. Much less compelling then many other brown belgian strong ales I have had. There just isnít a whole lot of flavor to make note of. it still has the right feel just not much flavor.

Ruby brown, with a large light tan head. Fruit and mustiness in the aroma. Malty sweetness tempered by clove and other spice flavors from yeast esters. Spiciness lingers in the finish. Mouthfeel is suprisingly light and bubbly.

This brew starts off with a fruity aroma. It fills the glass with a muddy, opaque pour and a large bubbled, tan head that quickly collapsed. The first sip was sweet and left an effervescent mouth feel. Subsequent sips revealed complex, fruity flavors and something else that was pleasant but I couldnít identify. This was followed by the hops which left a nice, but short lived aftertaste. It was medium bodied, not as heavy as the visual presentation would imply. It wasnít bubbly but left me gassy. Iím beginning to like these strong Belgians, they donít overwhelm me with fruit.

Dark brown with a large then quickley slim beige head. Aroma is malty, yeasty and spicey. Taste is caramel and malts, vague dark fruits, with a lightly bitter finish. Ful bodied, quite carbonated on the tongue with well hid alcohol. Nice, drinkable, nearly top notch, but not.
