3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice head but nowhere near as exuberant as Tremens, light fruit spice malt aroma, a fruity(sort of like blackberries) and malt taste, more timid then I expected, sweet and fruity but not enough of either.

Dark with a nice head that makes with the diappearing act quickly. Complex flavor right of the bat. Sweet and malty, yet still hides the hints of grape and peach in the flavor. I was semi-suprised at how little of a yeast feel this has.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Brown/ruby colored with a fizzy head that receded rapidly but continued bubbling on the surface. Aroma-some molasses and alcohol with a barnyardy sweat or urine note to it, some citrus maybe. Medium bodied and lively on the tongue with a musty caramel burnt sugar flavor that reminded me of Jamaican dark rum. Dryish finish with a bitter aftertaste that seemed a little off. Just so-so, kind of a hodgepodge.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good spicy hops on the nose, although not as complex as expected. Dark red in colour, the initial impact is one of over carbonation. Luckily this is folowed by a warming mouthful of alcohol. Flavours are fruity malts, cofffee and chocolate. A boozy Xmas pud of a beer. Will help Xmas go with a bang (then a snooze).

I enjoyed the Tremens so well that I decided to try the dark. If packaging counted towards appearance I'd give it an extra half point for the beautiful painted bottle and colorful foil label. Poured dark browm with a small tan head which didn't lace the glass at all. None the less, a great tasting and very smooth ale. Exceptionally drinkable giving it's high alcohol content. Just as good as the Tremens in my opinion.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark ruddy brown with a rocky tan head. Sweet caramel, yeast and tons of phenols. Brown sugar and yeast flavors. Touch of lactic sourness. A disappointment as I enjot the DTs so much.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a dark brownish/amber color with a large light tan head. Sweet aroma of candy sugar, with some vanilla and fruit noticable as well. Taste begins slightly sour, turns into oak, then a sweet flavor, and finally finishes dry.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This had a huge head with a good red brown body. The aroma is lightly sweet with a light citrus character. The flavor is a little bit of a letdown though, without a huge amount of character.

(Bottle) Pours an amber color with a thick frothy head. Best if you let this one set in the glass for about ten minutes. Overall a descent Belgian.
