COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Bottle at Bishops Arms (söder) Stockholm in November 2005.
Dark color. Rather thin scent and flavor, low bitterness. Should have had a bigger bite to it for a 9% beer.

Pleasing. A deep chestnut hue, bubbly but with virtually no head. Rich fruity aroma, of the lighter variety, such as pineapple and banana. A touch of yeasty bread dough is there too. Initially sweet with caramelized banana, a touch yeasty with a nice full and balanced finish. The mouthfeel is unusual, feeling soft and airy, yet the bubbles have a bite to them as well. Alcohol well masked, but you’re reminded of it when it warms on the way down.

This smelled like it was going to be a dream of a beer. Carmel, nuts, black licorace, and cloves. It was a beautiful dark nut brown. But the taste was astringent medicine. I was sad.

Dark brown with a quickly fading head. Toffee plum flavours with a sourness that fits in there perfectly and a fizzy mouth feel. It’s not very heavy and not too sweet.

Almost black colored, slight hints of red. Medium sized beige head. Sweetness, yeast, mild licorice, spices and alcohol in aroma. Medium to full bodied. Sweetness, chocolate, yeast, mild licorice and vinous tones in flavor, aftertaste has medium alcohol and spices. Aroma is slight disappointment, still fine and characteristic brew!

Poured, ironically enough, into my Delirium tulip. Pours a dark ruby with a plush head and laced sides. The smell is mocha, caramel, candied sugar, and dark fruits. The taste is deep withy ruddy dark fruit and chocolate. Good yeast balance masks the alcohol. the mouth has a slight tingle; good carbonation. All in all, very quaffable.

Bottle at Issac Newton’s. Pours Mahogany with a decent sized off-white head. Aroma of citrus, belgian style spices, sweet malts, yeast, and fruit. Flavor is sweet, malty, citrusy fruity, alcohol moderately present. Good body, damn good brew.

Can’t believe that I have not rated this one yet. Mohagany brew with only a fine ring of foam. Sweet malty aromas with a that famous belgian yeast strain that produce a lovely fruity spicey aroma. This tasted kind of off. Very carbonated and copper tasting.

Draught. Dark amber colour with an off-white head. Sweet malty aroma. Sweet malty flavor with some spicy hints. Also some hints of yeast. Sweet malty finish.

Thick hazed mahogany showing potency in density and legs, with a very fast, seemingly-creamy head and gobs of trub at the bottom of the glass. Aroma held much more depth and enjoyment than the flavor of this beer, deeply malted over strong alcohol, fruity cherry and concord grape in a deadly sweet vortex of caramel. Fluffy sourness with alcohol, the flavor strikes as a Belgian Brown, wooden and moldy with a dry & dirty finish. Thinner than I’d like and not as sweet, either. I found more pleasure drinking in the aromas than the flavors.
