hmmm. i canít say i enjoyed this beer. iím well versed in the flavors and textures that dominate Belgian beers (the rest of the world having bred those flavors OUT of their yeast strains a hundred years ago) but this beer doesnít use it well. itís winey and appely, with grainy dark malts and high alcohol oils. kind of off-putting. i give it a (bronx-cheer)

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A dark Belgian that will please an advanced beer drinker or strong ale home brewer. This dark beer pours a slight off-white head that diminishes to a foamy film that floats on the beer. Nose is dark and fruity. Taste is burnt, raisins, and malty. Caramel. This is quite the drink!

this beer pours a slightly light, foggy, brown colour with a moderate head and a moderate release of gasses. the tastes of plum and raisin were quite noticable. this is a slightly tart, wine-like beer yet still manages to go down smooth and it tastes pretty smooth with a nice amount of maltiness and coffee flavors. not quite as good as delirium noel, though.

On tap this brew was very unique. Pours a faintly hazy dark red with a thin off-white head. This brew smells like like port wine, hints of plum and raisin. Big woody character to this with some sharp spice in the finish. The finish was a bit acidic with lingering alcohol notes. I liked it but definatly couldnít drink a lot of it.

Brown with no head. Aroma is banana and raisin. With more banana in the flavor. Very dry. Too much carbonation. Just o.k.

This is by far my favorite beer. I disagree about the aftertaste being "foul alcohol" - itís just right!
