Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Cloudy amber colour with small white head, choclate aroma. spicey/bitter after taste, really weird.

This is by far my favorite beer. I disagree about the aftertaste being "foul alcohol" - it’s just right!

dark appearance with beige head. Great to find these on tap, as I did at Underground Bluz in Orlando. A dark conglomeration as Sweet side fruity with sour and malty aftertaste

Very similar to chimay bleu in many aspects but tastes a little drier. The finish is also a little different in that it has a slightly foul, alcohol, malty aftertaste to it which was the major drawback. Otherwise, not too shabby.

Big frothy head gets high marks with me. Big malty flavor will too. Not too fruity. Sort of a dry palate. Alcohol is hidden well. Not as good as the Noel or the Tremens but still a quality brew.

dark brown, pours with fair head. not too much smell, decent taste. the high alcohol is noticable. starts off smoothly, very neutral aftertaste

Much better than the ’Tremens’ offering, this one is sweet and sour and makes a good sippin’ brew.

Appearance is dark brown with a lingering head. Taste is malty with a fairly bitter finish. Not too bad, but not overly impressive.

75cl bottle, cork dated 2003. Raisins and grapes in the nose. Thick head falls leaving slight lace behind. A nice look and good fruity aroma lead to a very vacant tasting beer. Just nothing there. Alcohol doesn’t show up, but nothing else beside some dark malt and corkiness. Nothing attractive or redeeming here. Empty.

Dark brown with a small head. Smells sweet, almost eggnoggy, raiseny, etc. Very nice. Flavor is slightly strongly weak (make sense?), and the alcohol is well hidden. Finishes bitter, but overall the alcohol is well hidden. Nice.
