pours muryk red/brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is complex light bread and hay, dough and leather with red wine. Flavor is balanced, starts rasberry and finishes chocolate covered bannans. Medium to full bodied watery and softly carbonated. Very tasty and complex

It just does not get better than this Belgian ale. Perfect drinkability. You’d never know the alcohol % by tasting this ale.
This is a brew that should not be served ice cold as it tastes like a fizzy cola. The true flavors come out at about 45-50 degrees.
PS don’t drink too many, I got the champagne giggles.

Deep mahogany color and a tan head. Smells of sweet dried fruit - cherries, dates, figs, and some caramel. Well balanced and sweet on the tongue - very little alcohol taste for 9%.

2004 - 8.5%abv. Brown/dark amber topped by a 1", bubbling, festering, tan head that eventually calms to a sheet of ice top. Nose of pungent, way past ripe dark fuits and melons, toasty caramel, doughy yeast, spices, candi sugar, and some subtle, sour, metallic oxidation. Flavor adds roasted grains (especially in the finish), chocolate, marshmallows, easier on the spices and metallic notes. Oxidation almost indetectable in the flavor, mostly just drying up the finish a bit, which works well here. Full body is smoother than balanced. Very nice brew.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2007 Bottle. Dark brown, with a big tan head. Smells of yeast and spice. Overcarbonated, lacking in flavor, alcohol hid well, but there is a persistent bite that I didn’t like. Acidity or ginger like. This just didn’t do it for me. First one was drank while smoking a cuban cigar, so I didn’t rate it, second try wasn’t very memorable. Strike three, it’s out. I didn’t care for this brew.

Bottle @ Delirium Cafe. 25/05/06. Dark probably cherry red body with frothy light tan head. Fruity sweet smell. Subdued cherry flavours, slipped down well, great body for drinking plenty of as alcohol seemed to be well hidden.

Pours like a fizzy cola. The effervescent head reeks of alcohol as it dissipates. The aroma is a sharp burnt malt and alcohol. Maybe more there but the heavy alcohol burned my lungs. Actually smooth and oily, with a tangy bite in the finish.

Well, not as good as I hadhoped. Looked ok - dark honey brown, with a persistant tan head. A sweet aroma, with a hint of alcohol. Sweet flavor, with a strong taste of rubbing alcohol. Light on the mouthfeel. Not bad, but have had much better belgiums.
