Delirium Nocturnum is an outstanding dark brown strong ale with a nice malty taste.

draft@Delirium café in Brussels: smelled of malt & dried fruits, tasted of malt, some brown sugar and lots of spices (including black pepper), it was a bit like a Christmas beer but a bit too thin for that & not overt enough, nice but could have been better

Bottle. Dark brown/amber body with a small head. Aroma has caramel syrup and booze. Taste is caremelly with a hint of blackberries and whiskey. Harshly boozy and cloying. Maybe aging improves it.

clear dark amber with a beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, dried fruit and yeasty. Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. Finish is bitter with warming alcohol. Smooth. 160110

Enjoyed at Lucky Baldwins South Pasadena with friends. Pours out a medium dark brown with a tan head which slowly fades but left little lacing. Smells of ripened fruits, raisins, Belgium yeasts and candied sugar. Tastes deliciously complex with lots of flavors to satisfy the palate. A little sourness, the roasted malts along with the yeast funkiness mixed with a slight sweetness. This is one I would recommend that you experience for yourself!

Bottle. Pour is rich reddish brown with a smallish beige head. Aroma is faint toffee malt, light fruit, a faint tart berry aroma, and faint spice. Flavor is lightly spicy up front with notes of tart fruit and a subtle tobacco flavor. Finish is lightly bitter and light spicy with hints of a lightly nutty malt. Not too shabby. Have seen it a hundred times but never tried it. Decent complexity and depth of flavor. I would do it again.

Pours brown with very thin head. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel and dark fruit. Taste is initially sour, but it finishes very sweet. Sticky mouthfeel.
