COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Dark brown coloured brew with a medium beige head, which remains thinly on the top. Sourish smell with dried fruits and pepper. Carbonated start with a tart-peppery aroma escorted by dried fruits, caramel/toasted malt, notes of chocolate and alcohol, the mouthfeel is oily. The warming up finish brings pepper, citrus, alcoholy sweetness and some hints of hops along, which leaves a peppery-fruity aftertaste behind. Alcohol’s well hidden, so it’s easy to síp. Overall nice and complex as expected.

I liked this beer alot. The pour is a murky hazy ruby brown with a thick two fingers of tan head. Aroma of earthy yeasts and dark fruits such as raisin and prune. THe taste is malty, mildly hopped and nice and fruity. Love the dark fruits that come through. A good Belgian dark overall.

Really good beer. I like the dark brown-red color it pours, slight head, nice lacing. Strong aroma of alcohol, raisin, slight fruit, spice. Great taste, strong, fruity, spicy, bready rich flavor. The palate is nice, a little heavy on alcohols left but nice. Overall a great offering, I think it could have a little more going on in there for a better score, but most definitely a good beer, with a lot of favorable qualities.

Bottle 33cl. Color is amber/red with a light brown/red head, hazy. Aroma has some touches of apple, soured milk, red fruit. In the taste also red fruit and sour milk and a light bitter aftertaste. Texture is between watery and creamy.

Tonight I revisit a favorite from my past. A year ago I was introduced to this brew at a Belgian pub in Pasadena California and was quite surprised when I saw this brew at a local store. My first impression takes off with the aroma. You notice a strong malty armoa with nutty tones (walnuts?) and spices. Delirium pours dark brown with a huge frothy head which assists the smell that brings you in for that taste. I think the taste is complex and the finish is long and toasty. Also, I notice a dark fruity taste like raisins and dates. The feel is smooth and dry with a bubbly nature from the carbonation. Girls being introduced to dark beer may enjoy this as it is not a heavy beer on the stomach or the mouth like a bubbly wine (except not tart or bitter like wine).
