Geiserich (1775), Vienna, Austria May 24, 2008 Bottled: Roasty nose with caramel and sour milk notes. Caramel followed by sour milk and bitter hop notes. Quite empthy end. Unbalanced. Tmoney99 (4663), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle from Dilly Deli. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex tart citrus yeasty aroma. Medium body. Moderate to heavy bittersweet yeasty flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish and small alcohol bite of moderate duration. Good brew. kassner (429), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2008 Had this beer at Sharp Edge. very smooth for a belgian with nice dark color. and modest amber head. I would say it was a little weak in taste . It finished very clean but the dark brought little in flavor. gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA May 20, 2008 Big head that lasts and laces. Smells of burnt malt and bready yeast. Well balanced bitterness and smooth to drink. Heavy mouthfeel. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA May 18, 2008 Updated: Oct 20, 2008Nice looking bottle... Mahogany colored brew. Very complex taste, lots of different flavors that change as the beer warms. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA May 17, 2008 Pours deep amber with a large tan head that quickly diminishes and has almost no lacing. Nose is faint caramel, dust, allspice, white pepper, alcohol. Very slight caramel malt flavor, mixed with banana phenols, segues into a dry, peppery finish. There are complex sour notes. Faint smoky flavor in the finish. Rather watery mouthfeel. All of the flavors are very understated. Everything improves as it warms. I did not enjoy my first taste of this, but it grows on you. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle: Nice looking beer dark brown color wtih an off white head that retains. Initial taste is very smooth with low carbonation. Second taste almost tastes like aluminum would (maybe the glass). Then it is followed by a wonderful savory banana carmelish aftertaste. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel May 14, 2008 Draught sample at a beer festival in kibbutz Ma’abarot, May ’08. Dark brown color with a medium, rather stable, beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some pleasant roastiness, fruity notes and chocolate hints. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, notes of coffee and caramel and some fruitiness. More yeasty and drier towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Nice.
