3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kands (40) - Missouri, USA - FEB 20, 2010
Brouwerij Huyghe Delirium Nocturnum -- 6/1/2009 from 25.4 oz. bottle . . .
Aroma: Neutral; Apple; Sweet malt; A bit of leather and mustiness.
Appearance: Clear; Rich medium-brown color; Thick tan head with good retention; Some lacing.
Taste: Lightly sour; Malty; Green apple; Leather, Musty; Alcohol
Palate: Medium thick; Not chewy-thick; Well carbonated, Decent finish with little aftertaste.
Overall: Not the best Belgian Ale we’ve tried, but not bad. Drinks somewhat lighter than it actually is. We think it deserves pretty decent scores, but is not one we’d buy again.

Bottle. Dark brown with a tan head that laced the glass. Malt, dough, and candy aromas. Sweet malt and bread flavors with a hint of alcohol. Not a bad beer, but it does not rate as well as some of the other Belgain strong ales that I have tried.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 ownch411 (21) - USA - FEB 17, 2010
Bottle. Pours a very dark ruby with a thin, light head. Aroma of fruits and alcohol. A crisp palate taste leads to a somewhat bland finish and watery after taste. Not bad but nothing special either.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 0o9i (434) - Reno, Nevada, USA - FEB 6, 2010
Bottle. Dark, clear, too much red to be walnut, not enough red to be mahogany, big floating particles, good sized head, fluffy, creamy in texture leaving pillowy lace, hiding the top of the beer. Smells of dark fruit, alcohol, clove, caramel, roastiness, and apple notes. Palate is medium-full, with soft carbonation, almost a milky texture. Dominated by dark fruits, has some roasted malt, a bit sour with some wine characteristics: grapes, alcohol notes, sour. Big hop profile for the style with a firm hop finish, mostly woody notes, dries out. There are some harsher alcohol notes and pungency, but not much. A touch spicy, clove.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 McGarnigle (443) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 5, 2010
Pink elephant bottle. Pours dark brown, slightly reddish. Nice enough head. Very much of berries and similar fruits, rather than darker ones such as plum, figs, etc. Some toffee, and it finishes a bit sweet. Still very nice.
