Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

On tap at Frites, Wanchai, Hong Kong. Pours dark, red-brown with a single finger off white head. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, caramel, toffee, mocha, chocolate. Taste of initial dark fruits with some caramel from the malts, lightly syrupy, with almost christmas fruity cake, lemon, cherry, some zestiness too. A Fantastic beer!

Pours a nice dark brown/amber with plenty of head. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, with some apple, pear and spices. Flavor has dark fruits, loads of dark fruits. Raisin, prune. Spicy. It's also kinda alcoholic and boozy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Pours a dark reddy brown with an off white head. Sweet, yeasty, bubblegum, pepto-bismolly aroma. Medium body, full carbonation. Dark fruit, light coke, light bubblegum, light cherry, fruit cake, lemon... Still quite light with a little zestiness as well ass the richer fruit. nice.

750ml bottle, from Dutch’s. Hazy dark red color. Finger of tan head. Leaves good thicker lace. Loose lace towards the end. Looks great. Medium to bigger body. Soft, kind of moderate to stronger carbonation. Kind of dry finish. Spicier flavor, some dark fruit, mild chocolate. Moderate sweet taste, bit more dry than your typical belgian strong, which is nice. Spicy taste overall, maybe a bit too spicy for me initially.. Though the beer does grow on me overall. Smooth, despite the stronger carbonation. Lighter bitter, nice mild warmth on the finish. Some strange metallic up front, kind of coppery. Steph L. tasted it, she said it tastes kinda bloody. And yeah, she’s right. The metallic is kind of distracting. Beyond that, though, solid belgian strong ale overall. Nice to enjoy with my Subway BMT.

Ciemno-rubinowe piwo o ładnej, trwałej pianie. W aromacie słodowe z wyraźną nutą przyprawową i suszonych owoców. W smaku karmelowe z lekko pikantnym finiszem.

Butelka 0,33 z Piwomaniaka. Lekkie rozczarowanie. Kolor brązowy, piana wysoka, podziurawiona, szybko opadla oblepiajac szklo. Aromat ledwo wyczuwalny slodowy i suszone owoce. W smaku suszona sliwka, slody. Wysokie wysycenie, zbyt wysokie. Ogolnie niezly belg tylko te wysokie wysycenie nie pozwala sie nim do konca cieszyc.

Dark brown with a bit of red. Nice head dissipates quickly. The aroma is of fruit and liqueur. The flavor is sweet, malty, and strong alcohol. The aftertaste is a bit astringent, but otherwise alcohol pleasant.

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Clear very dark brown, thick 1" brown head, bits and pieces of lace. Aroma of caramel and malt. Taste is toasted sweet malt with very light bits of chocolate and spice as it moves through the palate, adding a light edge for balance in the finish. Alcohol warmth arrives late. A reasonable brew, best for sipping.

A dark and smooth ale with hints of dark fruits. Some spices also thrown in. Very good sipping beer.
