Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Pours a cloudy dark reddish brown color with off-white head. Dark fruits, spice, anise and caramel in aroma and taste. Pretty straightforward and not so complex.

Pours dark brown with big persistent brown head. Sweet nose, spices, dried fruits, candy sugar. Taste is sour, some bitter toasted malts and some sweetness. Medium body, alcohol well inserted, balanced. Good one.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2015 Mahogany. Large head with high retention. Sweet metal in the nose. At least two different layers in the taste with medium to heavy sweet (and some alcohol), which combined with the spot on carbonation gives it a nice structure.

Ordered on tap from the Delirium cafe in Brussels. It pours opaque mahogany with ruby highlights; the head was beige and foamy. The aroma has notes of: wet dirt, dust, and a slight charcoal scent. The taste is light bitter; there are notes of: toffee, blackberry, and pine. The palate is light bodied and has light carbonation; there is a medium astringency, and has a short finish. Overall, a weak beer riding on the coattails of its more successful sibling.

Bottle. Medium amber, murky, with orange highlights and a medium off white head. Sweet brown sugar, raisins, light banana, spicy finish. Quite estery and sweet, and a touch alcoholic. A bit disappointing actually.

W smaku figowa słodycz, kwaskowa jeżyna, wyraźna melanoidynowa słodowość i wiśniówka. Goryczka nieduża, pestkowo-pieprzowa, alkohol "nienachalny", rozgrzewający przełyk. Faktura piwa szorstka, popiołowa i dość treściwa, nagazowanie średnie. Całkiem sympatyczna interpretacja Belgian Strong Dark Ale, swego rodzaju blend Dubbla z Kriekiem, ciekawy i wart spróbowania.
