Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Bottle from Hops in Tallinn. Pours a dark mahogany-amber with a huge creamy beige fluffy head. Strong lace; retention good. The aroma is a warming mix of caramel, cinnamon, nuts, sugared dark fruits, kind of faint wintery spices... The flavour seems at first much less as nuanced as the aroma - to the level of disappointingly so. I get caramel, nuts, and dark fruits soaked in booze. Wouldn’t say I get any chocolaty shades. Lightish on the palate, so... yeah, the alcohol shines through, warming the mouth almost to the level of heat. Carbonation pretty modest, but prickly, palate slightly sticky. Spicy sweet overall character. Was expecting much more, but it’s good nonetheless.

Una buona ale scura, profumata e traboccante di caramello, frutta cotta e malto tostato. Discretamente corposa e strutturata, un poco acidula e "pulita" sul finale ma -ahimè- pasticciata e parzialmente appiccicosa.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, very dark red. Film of dense, off white head. Aroma of vine fruit, toffee, fruit stone, and milk chocolate. Taste is fruity sweet. Turns a little dry. Lots of fizz, but stays smooth. Drinks under the ABV. Finishes light, vine fruit bitter. Super drinkable.

8.5%ABV. Belgian Strong Ale. Poured out of the bottle a deep dark brown, almost black, like an evil porter. 40ºSRM. Nose is fragrant with a fresh, almost fruity aroma of cut stone fruit, prunes, dates and plums. There is a clean sweet cotton candy nose to this bewitching brew. This clear sweet aroma note could also be rice, like in a horchata, sweet rice gruel or a burnt rice tea. Light foamy slightly soapy mouthfeel. Aggressively carbonated to give you the impression of lightness. This is a very nicely balanced effort with the carbonation acting as a perfect vehicle to allow the palate to appreciate individual flavors which would otherwise meld into a thicy syrup mass: there is a citrus or fruity tang, then caramel, the burnt sugar flavor of a creme brulee, a charmingly nutty, graham cracker, roasted almonds, hazelnuts, raisins, and if you grant some of that dark flavor is chocolate then what you have is a palate that sugggests a well chawed trailmix! Finish is smooth and brief with some hops to clean out and mop out the palate. Goes on Favorites List!

Aromas of caramel, fruits and a bit liquirice. Clear brown liquid, long lasting white-brown head. Sweet and followed by a light bitterness. Lively carbonation, creamy texture, full body. Well balanced and very tasteful beer!
