jwdevalue (158), Neptune, New Jersey, USA Sep 29, 2007 This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again. Braincage1 (137), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 27, 2007 Bottle. Ive been having a lot of pretty lame beers lately so this was a nice break from those. Very good fruit flavor, mild hops and a lot of spices thrown in which makes it fresh but almost too medicine-like. Very good yankeefan21 (82), USA Sep 24, 2007 Had the full pint bottle. Wow! This stuff kicked me in the liver! It poured dark and cloudy with a decent head. It smelled kind of hoppy but not amazing. Once it got passed my lips, it was quite good and got better with each taste. It got to the point where every time my mouth was dry, I simply poured more Deliruim down my throat! This was a very good ale that I will be having again. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Sep 24, 2007 (330 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/1828-vintage-house-specialties/8302.htm target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Pours murky dark orangish brown with lots of suspended solids. One finger of biege head that recedes to about 1/4" and stays. Aroma of brown sugar, candy-like maltiness and dark stewed fruit. Mouthfeel of fine bubbliness (bottle-carbonation), soft, a bit dry. Flavor is a bit winey and yeasty with the stewed fruit and some rock candy maltiness. Not particularly rich but I enjoyed it. First mouthful was very metalllic but that seemed to subside. High marks for appearance, aroma and palate. mvcramer (229), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA Sep 14, 2007 750ml bottle. Cork date 2007. Liquid pours a beautiful chocolate brown with a tan/off-white head. This isn’t the best Belgian around, but it is still a very good beer. Not sure if it was a plum, fig or date aroma that I got, but it was that dried fruit note that dominated. Balanced malty flavor and a mildly sweet finish. I felt like I got some chocolate flavor as well, but not sure if that’s my brain tricking me into wanting to taste chocolate, given the beautiful color. Tremens is a better beer, but I would certainly order Nocturnum as well. wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 8, 2007 Thick, rich, brown, this one has aroma of prunes and milk chocolate and perhaps another dried fruit. The feeling on the tongue is like powdered chocolate, it rests there for a second then the sweetness melts in. Dark brown-red in color with a thick white head. Let this age. Padron4KM (400), Chandler, Arizona, USA Sep 3, 2007 330 ml white bottle. 04/07 notched on the lable.
Hazy redish brown with a hefty tan head.
