Flavor is rich and fruity, but still has a freshness to it. Overall a great beer. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 11/20/2001

ohemming (22), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 30, 2007 Bottle. Big thick head. Nice sweet and toasted aroma. Flavor is good, not great, but overall a nice beer. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Aug 29, 2007 Aroma of dark fruits and some dark caramel/molasses malt. Dark ruby color (before halogen) with a finely bubbled beige head. Seems to start with strawberries*, quickly superceded by something like raisin. There is a very little yeasty spice. The body is thin to medium, and the carbonation is nearly creamy. The finish is strangely both sweet and dry, even a bit astringent. It’s good stuff, but apparently not the best in style. *one time shot - just the first mouthful. BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 26, 2007 Draft in Ghent. Hazy brown color with and off-white head. Definitely taste caramel and other sweet noted. Maybe a little thin but I enjoyed it. VikingHammer (362), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA Aug 22, 2007 Pours a murky brown with a small beige head. Aroma is almost to sweet. Lots of sweet fruits dominate the taste. Finish is Yeasty with a slight bitterness. Decent Belgian Ale. djd07 (721), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 21, 2007 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a dark copper amber color with medium light tan head. The aroma is sweet with malt. Very nice lacing on this one. The taste is a sweet caramel with a nice finish and hides the alcohol well. A very good belgian strong ale. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 20, 2007 Thanks to Kelly. Ruby/brown with a big craggy tan head. Nose is yeast, hot alcohol, raisin/port, some brightness (lime?), grape, a hint of dark malt - overall too alcoholic. Flavor is raisin/port, some yeasty fruit. A bit of honey in the finish. extremely thin body.
