| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Aroma of dark fruits and some dark caramel/molasses malt. Dark ruby color (before halogen) with a finely bubbled beige head. Seems to start with strawberries*, quickly superceded by something like raisin. There is a very little yeasty spice. The body is thin to medium, and the carbonation is nearly creamy. The finish is strangely both sweet and dry, even a bit astringent. It’s good stuff, but apparently not the best in style. *one time shot - just the first mouthful. BelgianBeerGal (1282), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

The aroma is sweet with malt. Very nice lacing on this one. The taste is a sweet caramel with a nice finish and hides the alcohol well. A very good belgian strong ale. rudolf (1744), Buffalo, New York, USA

Nose is yeast, hot alcohol, raisin/port, some brightness (lime?), grape, a hint of dark malt - overall too alcoholic. Flavor is raisin/port, some yeasty fruit. A bit of honey in the finish. extremely thin body.
