Pours a nice dark reddish brown with nice carbonation bubbles making their way to the top of the glass. The aroma was mostly a mixture of fruit, caramel, and sugar. The flavor is largely dark fruit with some sweet sugar notes toward the end. Alcohol and yeast somewhat noticeable. A good drinking beer, but nothing otherworldly. MoDog (915), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2007 Poured from an 11.2oz bottle into a tulip. This beer poured a dark brown color with some amber highlights showing up around the edges of the glass. There was quite a bit of visible carbonation dancing up the sides of the glass. The head was a thick, fizzy, tan color, and it slowly faded. Some uneven lacing was left around the glass. The aroma consisted of dark fruits, yeast, sweet caramel malt, and some faint alcohol notes. The flavor was dark fruit, very sweet caramel, apple, and some bready yeast notes. The mouthfeel was slightly dry and medium-bodied. Overall, this was a very enjoyable beer. Nothing amazing, just a good, balanced beer. Worth a try. norsedoc (162), USA

Actually a little underwhelming as far as taste. Finishes of smooth toffee. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Very dark amber/brown in color, full frothy head. Nose is sweet malts, raisins, dried fruit with hints of mocha and alcohol. Medium, almost full in body but smooth and creamy. Alcohol in the nose does not translate into alcohol on the tongue. No bite which really allows the flavors and aromas to dominate. A very good belgian. jarspag (593), Los Angeles, California, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 12, 2007 I keep buying it, drinking it, and remembering that I don’t like it. Too syrupy. Makes me want to stop drinking and go to sleep. Maybe that is where they get the name. If it wasn’t in a fancy botle with cool psychadelic art I don’t think it would even be considered on a "good" beer list. aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA

Skunky, dry banana, strong yeast aroma. Sour, sweet, ...not great. tastes like lots of stuff I don’t like. black licorish....citricy, acidic. A little bubblegum. weird.
