COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Pours very dark with a red highlight, fluffy white head. Not overly fragrant, dark fruits, raisin, malty. Taste has notes of raisin, plum, ripe dark fruits, yeasty spice. Not overly complex. High carbonation for such a high ABV. Solid, not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear dark brown color with some copper hues and a creamy beige head (4/5). Aroma is yeasty with some spice and coriander (7/10). Flavor is phenolic spicyness with some coriander finishes warm, a bit one-dimensional (7/10). Medium to heavy palate, filling and a bit flat (3/5). Nice dubbel-sque Belgian ale (14/20). 3,5

On tap at Mayor of Old Town. Appearance: very slight head, tannish head color, ok lacing, copper-red to brown color, clear. Aroma: oak, cherry, vinegar, citrus, grapes, raisins. Palate: light body, sticky texture, average carbonation, lasting finish. Taste: sweet, with a slight tartness and roast to the end, great port-like taste of raisins. Overall, I fell in love with this beer and can not wait to have it on tap again! Very complex and just delicious.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor Fort Collins. Been a couple of years since I last had this beer and I guess it’s only fitting that this is 23 months old. Slight gusher. Pours a somewhat murky orangish brown appearance with a creamy light brown head. Cola, caramel, brown sugar, slight dark fruity, plum aroma. Just a bit twangy, dark grape, raisin, candy sugar, somewhat spicy, light chocolate flavor with a fair amount of red grapes and a touch of tartness on the finish. No oxidation immediately obvious. Tasty.

From a bottle. Deep mahogany amber pour with off whit head, no lacing. Aroma of honey on toast, flavor balance of sweet fruit and roasted grain... Smooth finish, good winter warmer... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33cL. Evening, home. A dark brown beer with a beige creamy head. Aroma of fruits like berry, roasty caramel, alcohol. Heavy sweetness with light bitterness. Long alcohol/sweet finish. Warming. "Fat" (more than full) body. Oily texture. A good beer but not a foolish one as I expected.
