Solid brew, just a little rough on the edges. Pours very murky, and a dark amber. VERY fizzy, even on the second pour. Very sweet, and fruity. Very drinkable for the fizzzy mouth.

From a 22 oz. 2007. Great head, big creamy off white color and frothy. I was afraid it might come over the trappist glass, but it settled down nicely after a few minutes of waiting. Amber brownish hue. body was little thin but overall a nice texture and full of different flavors of fruityness. Would have it again.

cheery type of a brew. candy fruit flavors that really are not that impressive, but not offensive. good mouthfeel. alcohol is strongish on the buds. like to feel a bit more body. a mild tweak could really push this beer up there. insufficient carbonation profile.

Not as impressed as I was by Delirium Tremens. Pours a slightly hazed copper with a thin small bubbled offwhite head. The nose lightly sweet with fruit and a definite bit of bubblegum. Alcohol is surprisingly forward. Some floral hops. I liked the body on this when it was cooler, but as it warmed, it was flat and lacking body. Latter pours from the bottle showed this was a bit fizzy at first, but went flat fast with warming and swirling. The bubblegum and alcohol comes out in the flavor quite a bit. A bit of raisin, but mostly a thin sweet and dry fruity alcohol kick. Some creaminess, floral hops, maybe peppery Saaz? A bit acidic, perhaps some apple cider? Creamy fruity finish, alcoholic funky aftertaste. Not a huge fan, I need some more sweet dark malt character, less alcohol, and perhaps a bit more body on this fizzy to flat enigma.

Dark fruit and cookies, with a strong kick of alcohol in the taste and nose. Tasted side by side with their Tremens. The alcohol isn’t played as well here.

A Mes rate: Bottle from Quinns. Not a Huyghe fan full stop and this does nothing to change that. All alcohol and no finesse. Thin in the body for what it is. Nothing really stands out in the flavour or the nose other than nasty fruit and old brown sugar. Almost as low quality as their Americana fest of a bar.

bottle @ the dovetail. Smells of brown sugar, red wine gravy, caramel and dried fruits. Yum! Tastes of primarily malts and dark fruit. Weird finish that I can’t pin. A lot of yeast, earthly malt and orange in the taste and aroma.

From the tap at Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Brown, reddish in direct light with a significant, nice looking tan head. Aroma is spicy, with dark pitted fruits and sweet malt, most noticeably and surprisingly a distinctive caramel component. Taste is a bit muddled to me - caramel, prunes and plums, a bit of alcohol. Very sweet with a sweet finish and a slight spice in the after. Soft, rounded on the tongue but the carbonation needs to be picked up a bit - maybe better in this respect from the bottle. Nice but doesn’t compare to some.
