Aroma of mild hops, metal, and yeast. Light mouthfeel with noticeable alcohol presence and a dry, bittersweet finish.

The neat lookng bottle was $7.68 at my local North Coast Coop in Eureka. It poured a garnet red color wtih floating chunks I suppose must be yeast. Head is tan with big fat and long lasting bubbles. Lacing was moderate. Nose was complex and of malts, fruits, coffee, chocolate, and a little hops. Mourthfeel was excellent with smoothness and the alcohol is hidden well. Flavors are excellent and mirror the aromas. Finish good with a hint of bitterness. A simple delightful brew to drink and well worth the price.

I tried this right after the delirium tremens, I favored the tremens over this brew. However, this one was sweeter, still easy to drink despite the high alc content. Thanks Steve (Chef201atc)

Delight, really! Dark-red coloration. It gives pra to perceive a light suspension. Dense, consistent and very persistent cream. In the nose, evident notes of chocolate, coffee and toasted malt. In the palate, the party starts of truth. Made velvety and creamy texture. Red fruits, chocolate and toasting. Perfect carbonation, almost imperceptible alcohol and incredible aftertaste.

Dark brown colored pour with a nice medium sized head. Yeasty, sweet aroma with a nice sweet nutty finish. I enjoyed this.

The bottle promised me visions of pink elephants. Or at least that’s what I thought. After opening and pouring and tasting, I get the feeling that Huyghe was trying to develop a beer that tastes like you are licking the skin of a pink elephant. Not awful in itself, but awful in that it thinks its better than it is. In other words, it’s arrogant. I hope it doesn’t corrode the pipes as the rest of this goes down the drain.
