4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep fruits, yeast, oats and biscuit malts on the nose. Dark amber/brown with a massive foam. Big alcohol presence with pleasant caramel, oat, barley and fresh hop notes that dance around the palate. Big complexity with some hidden undertones of herbs, belgian candi syrup, roasted molasses and mocha. Overall, this is really strong, full-bodied, and complex. I’d give this an A+ rating.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle (330 ml). Gusher. Dark cola color with a small quickly vanishing off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is of liquorice, cola, light spiciness, caramel and dark fruits. Taste is dominated by liquorice and light spiciness, dark fruits, caramel and cola. Medium body. A tad watery. Fizzy carbonation. This bottle was probably not in good shape (gusher, fizzy carb), but it was really bad. Lack of balance. Too much liquorice. Bleh.

@Basunen 14-10-18:lite parfymerad doft av kryddor och torkat frukt. Smaken är söt men torr. Typisk belgisk. Helt ok men ingen sensation

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"the mix of spices and the raisiny sweetness hide the high alcohol content quite well and give this beer a hell of a mouthfeel. In the end I liked it, but i’m still waiting for the belgian that will WOW me."

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle poured in its own glass @ "Pinguin zem Bier-Huus": A very nice Beer house in Basel.
A: First of all: Classic bottle art with the pink elephant and a nice purple aluminum foil on the neck. Cloudy brown color. One finger head
S: Earthy Belgian yeasts, toffee and malt. Fruity and sweet smell.
T: As suggested by the smell: Belgian yeasts, toffee and toasted malt with some notes of dark fruits. Sweet start. Also balanced (hoppy) bitterness.
M: Balanced bitter-sweetness. Nice malt and hops mouthfeel. Good carbonation
D: High. Despite the high ABV, you cannot feel too much the alcohol. Lovely Belgian beer. Recommended.
