Bottle pours a dar4k amber witha huge sandy colored head. ots of dark malts and pitted fruits. raisons and dates but not so sweet. Flavor was carmel and that funky belgian yeast. Nice smooth palate and very lively carbonation.

Dark brown with a large then quickley slim beige head. Aroma is malty, yeasty and spicey. Taste is caramel and malts, vague dark fruits, with a lightly bitter finish. Ful bodied, quite carbonated on the tongue with well hid alcohol. Nice, drinkable, nearly top notch, but not.

Bottle from Market Street in Allen, TX. Aroma of some dark fruit, spice, faint alcohol. Flavor has some dark fruit, faint licorish, Brett, farmhouse, alcohol, almond, fairly complex. Mouthfeel is light-medium body, champaign like fizzy, high carbonation. Very good beer....

Bottle courtesy of Pflug. Pours a deep muddy red. Fat raisin and sweet fruit aroma. Taste is sweet fruit but also is fairly tart. Soured fruit. Meh.

A dark orange pour with a bubbly off-white head and large bubbles. Lots of yeast in the aroma, malt and prunes/oranges too. Body is light and fizzy to an extreme. Sweet toasty malts, yeasty, spicy and a slight metallic finish. Good belgian but the carbonation is just so extreme that it makes it hard to really get a good taste.

Draught sample at a beer festival in kibbutz Ma’abarot, May ’08. Dark brown color with a medium, rather stable, beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some pleasant roastiness, fruity notes and chocolate hints. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, notes of coffee and caramel and some fruitiness. More yeasty and drier towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Nice.

Pours a very dark amber/copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma is mostly spicy malts and Belgian yeast, with some alcohol and dark sweet fruits also. The taste is quite sweet with some background spice and Belgian twang. Some heat comes in on the finish. Not nearly as complex as compared with other stong Belgians, but still decent. Alcohol is quite apparent for 8.5%.
