JFURYCAT (705), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 28, 2008 I actually dig the aroma where the yeast shines. But....besides an obvious alcoholic kick on first sip, this yields a raisin-like STICKY malt flavor with some figs, nutmeg and grapes thrown in. Brown-dark pour with a medium body and way too sweet. The finish seems to have a bitter chocolate licoriche flavor. Palate is a bit on the wet side which doesn’t seem to complement the stickiness. Bottle from NEPA case split (Thanks Brian!!!!).
ChainGangGuy (1463), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 26, 2008 Appearance: Pours a rich, brown body with a small, creamy-looking, white head.
Smell: Aroma smelling of toasted biscuits, caramel, a bowlful of candy, and a rather juicy fruitiness.
Taste: Sweet toasty, even bready maltiness with a taste of caramel. Dark candi sugar sweetness present. There’s even a little bit of chocolate. Again, it has a prevailing fruitiness with flavors of lightly tart cherries and raisins. Hint of spice. Finishes sweet and cakey with a definite warming alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation that’s a bit prickly.
Drinkability: Fairly enjoyable. Another delightful member of the Delirium Family. dpjuart (520), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 22, 2008 33 cl bottle. Pours clear, brown with cherry hues and a light khaki head, two fingers in the Tremens glass, dissipating to a half a finger. Nose is fruity, cherry and raisin, slight clove and allspice with a touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet caramel with raisin and cherry, with spicy notes of clove and coriander. Dry finish with some hop bitterness that’s overtaken by alcohol flavor and heat, the latter of which lingers well into the after. Decent BSA. BoBoChamp (329), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, hazy, small head, good brew, better balance than Delirium Tremens posikyle (156), Alabama, USA Jul 18, 2008 Pours dark brown, with a thick head and a big fruity aroma. Flavor is sweet malts in the front, raisins in the middle and a bit of a lingering finish. Hardly any hop profile. A definite one to pick up. aenimopiate (124), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA Jul 17, 2008 Had this beer a couple years ago, and I can’t believe I forgot to rate it then. This is a very good beer; darker than the tremens and has a flavor to accompany the shade of the beer. It tastes strongly of dark fruits and nuts, with a hint of yeast. I really enjoyed this beer, and I have another in my hand as I type this.
