COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Inferior to the tremens. Not a bad beer. Too much of an alcohol taste for my palate though.

Not bad spicy and fruity flavor. I prefer the Tremens more than this one.

overly foamy pour settled in to a rich though not very complex ale.Fruit, grapes, chocolate, hazy brown,I think this one is worth another try.

Deep dark reddish-brown in color, decent off white small bubbly head. Fruity aroma kind of wine like. Fruity sweetness flavors of apples and grapes, light hops in the finish, still very sweet, light-medium body, this one smells better than it tastes.

Pretty good ale, always like the bottles. Can't compete with the better Belgian ales, absolutely prefer Tremens.

Mohogany brown under a lasting beige head. Very roasty aroma for a Belgian style, I'm not saying it's good or bad, it's just different! Alcohol and fruit (plum) come in second. Maltiness and spicy yeast aromas follow as it warms. This seems to be a very dry beer flavor wise, I was expecting something a little more malty, which it is up front, but it quickly turns dry and bitter. It does have some spicey yeasty character in flavor as well as some fruitiness and hop in the finish. Maltiness is sort of a background player in this one. Medium body is probably a little lighter due to higher carbonation and warming alcohol, but it's also astringent which seems very unappealing to me. I expected more from this one, but it's still a very good beer. Possibly needs some aging.

Pretty average in my opinion. Deep dark brown/ruby pour with a big frothy head. Some chocolate in the aroma, as well as some malt and sweetness. Kind of thin, yet complex flavor. Some yeast and fruits dominate this flavor, yet I've had much better than this.

Acidic liqourice aroma... Weak taste with liqourice to it... Brown with a big head... Alcoholic aftertaste

Dark brown with reddish hints. Aroma of prune, raisin, alcohol, nutmeg. Sweet. Slight toffee notes. Hint of oranges. Finishes sweet, almost syrupy.
