Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

I’ve yet to try any of the Delirium beers and I finally caved when I needed to fill a spot in my mixed six. The pour produces an opaque brown but comes together in the glass to produce a murky brown out of light and a deep red when held up. A large three finger head develops but dissipates in a good amount of time. "Metallic" scent upfront followed with a warming alcohol aroma. There’s a very fain bread character here but it’s overpowered by raisins, figs and a general "sweetness" As it hits the tongue I sense raisin, figs and a faint hint of cherries. Very nice. I’m let down from here though. A bit of a yeast character starts to exhibit bread flavors in the middle but it’s cut short quickly by the metallic alcoholic aftertaste. Lighter carbonation inside the medium body helps it feel a slight heavier. The thickness here isn’t assisting with the metallic taste though. Honestly, I’m a bit let down. While there are some wonderful raisin, fig and cherry flavors, they’re cut short by the metallic taste from the alcohol. In some beers that flavor can enhance even but here it just detracts from the experience. I also would have liked a bit more "Belgian" in my Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Some of my favorite yeast flavors weren’t here and this just seemed like a cleaned up version of the style. It’s alright but it’s not that great.

À la pression. Couleur brun très foncé, arôme de café qu'on retrouve au goût. Peu de corps, peu de finale. Un peu décevante.

Bottle 33cL. Evening, home. A dark brown beer with a beige creamy head. Aroma of fruits like berry, roasty caramel, alcohol. Heavy sweetness with light bitterness. Long alcohol/sweet finish. Warming. "Fat" (more than full) body. Oily texture. A good beer but not a foolish one as I expected.

Halvfyllig. Trevligt värmande eftersmak.

Bottle, 330 ml. Pours deep, cloudy ruby with over a finger of soapy light tan head. Lacing is substantial and thick. Aroma of caramel malts, honey, citrus, apricot, orange, berries, and a small grassy note. Taste is more sour than anticipated, with the citrus and berry notes coming through in full force, backed up by honey and a grassy, herbal or vegetable finish. Finish is also quite dry. Carbonation is quite high and the body is a slightly watery medium, so the feel in the mouth could be better. Alcohol is noticeable in both taste and aroma. Not a spectacular brew but nice enough tasting; the biggest appeal of this to me is that utterly gorgeous bottle design, with it;s psychedelia artwork and ceramic glass look. This one is for the display shelf.
