Brown in color with a tan head. Sweet and roasty(?). Some chocolat and dark stone fruits and some very dark caramel.

One of the prettiest beers I have ever seen: A deep ruby red color with lots of carbonation, a creamy, foamy, rocky head, light brown head and some nice sticky lace. The head diminished, but settled down to a fine creamy layer that lasted throughout. The aroma was pleasant: malty, fruity esters, bubblegum, spices and some grassy background. The mouthfeel was decent and improved as the beer warmed: creamy, effervescent with a spicy dry finish. The taste left me wondering if I had the right beer. Light sweetness with a spicy middle and a dry biting finish. Sounds ok? Not really. It is surprisingly one-dimensional: The flavor seems to have some interesting characteristics but it does not appear to pull it off.

I almost got drunk with this one. I really deserve its name! Tan head on a dark redbrown body. The taste of alcohol is pretty obvious, but the flavor does go a long way to hide it. Woody and fruity notes; very good as an evening drink but not right before work, you’d be too drunk to be effective!

A sipping style that is most appropriate for consumption at Café Het Gol Bel. Dark chocolate brown with a thin fizzy head that shows surprisingly good retention. Big fruity malty nose – this beer’s intentions are very clear. Some alcohol sweetness wafts up. Wall of malt and alcohol sweetness, with licorice and aniseed, drives through the palate. Perhaps one of those rare instances where a beer drinks heavier that what the stated ABV suggests. Finishes long with meaty, cooked malt flavours. (e4.0 @ Café Het Gol Bel)

Dr. Pepper-brown with a bubbly head. Maybe I should just say "looks like Dr. Pepper." Fruity, brown sugar sweetness that loosens its cloyingness as the brew warms up. Somewhat nutty characteristics as well. Not as full-bodied or complex as expected but still quite nice.

bottle. Pours a solid deep red-brown hue with a dense, lingering head. The smell is rich of flowers, alcohol, and malt notes. The flavor is immensely dry with some raisins, complex fruit notes, and more alcohol. This successful harmony is followed by a very dry finish.

Pours a deep dark amber--can’t tell if it’s cloudy or clear-- with a moderate beige head. Smells of raisins and yeast. Tastes a litte bit of toffee and chocolate with some acohol. Slight bitter finish. I like tremens better than this one. Dunno about noel yet, but it’s hiding in my closet, so I’ll figure out in a couple days. Update: Not that it matters, but I can pick up a little graham cracker in the aroma as well. Just felt like adding it, because this is a new aroma I’m able to pick up now.

sugarplums on the nose, chocolate graham crackers in the mouth. Daresay it tastes a bit like a stuffed artichoke also. got a bit of carbonated bite, crunchy palate if there is such a thing. looks deep leather with a slight tinge of red. frothy head with fine lacing. nice!
