This ale is unfiltered and dark with a creamy head. Upon sipping you are greeted with some early carbonation, especially some fizziness on to roof of the mouth. The aroma effuses a brewery with all its sweet hoppy glory. The taste is chock full of spices and orange peel. Belgian yeasts almost hint at a tripel style beer. The finish is dry and tangy. The high alcohol content is surprisingly well disguised. In summary, Delirium Nocturnum is a delightful after dinner ale and it couples well with some chocolate!

Roasted malts, chocolate and coriander predominates in the tasting. Kind of like a soft stout!

I had this at Global Brew. Pours brown with a tan head. Taste dark fruit, Carmel, a bit of chocolate. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Barrels & Bottles. Brownish amber and clear appearance with a light tan head. Aroma and flavor of Belgian yeast, fruity esters, light caramel, soft juicy notes, darker malts, light chocolate and light alcohol. Not bad, a little too sweet for me, though.

I think I’m grown out of simple, strong Belgians cause i didn’t find it not pleasant nor interesting brew, same with Tremens.
Pours reddish, sparklyng with beige, yellowish frothy top, stays enough, almost no lasing. Aroma- sweet, sugary, a bit sour/acid, caramel-candy, dark berries esters, min to none hops. Taste- heavy sweet, light sour, min bitter. Medium body, avg dry finish, sugary and light acid aftertaste. This was quite drinkable if it would be more colder, drinked at room temp. It could work as refreshner (except high gravity) in hot summer day but not for sipping.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
1/2pint draught @Bulldog Pub, Murmansk(20.08.14) Mahogany clear body, with tiny head. Nuts, caramel, licorice and berries aroma. Eclectic taste, lots of different notions in fast order. Nuts, anise, raspberry, honey, burnt sugar, caramel. Very short, it feels like all the different tastes passes by too quickly. You have to take sips rather often to really enjoy this. If you take strength into consideration: you’ll end up drunk rather fast..

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the corked, caged 750 ml bottle stamped 20:54/L21-13267. That purple foil took forever to tear off and that bugged me a bit. The pour is dark brown mainly with a moderate tan head that sticks around. The aroma has the expected Belgian roasted malts and yeast up front but the dark fruit character really kicks in more so than any hops or yeasty notes. Medium to full body. Like the aroma the dark fruits are the leader of the pack with the Belgian malts playing second fiddle. Alcohol well-integrated. Very nice.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Mørkebrun med et middels høyt litt farget skum som daler raskt. Svakt krydret aroma. Innslag av søt frukt. Smaken litt nøtter & syrlig malt. Bra - men litt ensformig.

(Delirium Nocturnum) Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip. ABV 8.5%
Deep brown colour on the body, tall but frothy brown head, with good retention nevertheless, leaving minimal lacing on the glass.
Very nice aroma, some roasted malts, chocolate, dark and red fruits, liquorice. some spices.
Nice tasty, fruity with dark fruits, some caramel, well hidden alcohol, some red wine notes, but also a bit metallic on the finish. Light bitterness on the aftertaste with a bit of chocolate too.
Medium thin body, high carbonation, mildly dry palate.
Overall a very nice beer, tasty.
