COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Bottle: snifter: THought this was quite nice... Pour was great, dry, tan head, about 2 fingers. Color of red berries, very light haze. Taste was complex, def some fruits... a berry mix I can’t detail. The booze is present but not kick in the face, unfortunately, and the carbonation was rather low. Overall very smooth and enjoyable

Nice 3/4" fluffy lite tan had that leaves behind good lacing... Hazy walnut brown... I may be the only one who doesn’t like the faux ceramic bottles; no matter how hard you try, I always get big blobs of yeast in the glass. Lightly spicy with dark dried fruit.. caramel lite cloves and lite raisins and dried sweet sour cherries. Big carbonation on a lite/medium body... flavor is exactly like the aroma except with a little musky and metallic notes.. not Delirium’s best beer for sure. I don’t know why, but I always want my BSDA’s to have a touch more body

Bottle 330ml. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a deep hazy ruby (almost black). Head is large, lightly tanned, foamy, and mostly lasting. Aroma is vinous with notes of lambrusco, dark plums, juniper berries, raisin bread, Belgian candy sugar, soil and a pinch of fruitcake spices. Flavour is a light (vinous) bitterness with notes of dark plums, port winegums, blackberries, very lightly toasted wholemeal bread, dried leaves (light) and some light earthy/wood notes in the finish. Full bodied with medium carbonation and a long finish. My favourite so far from the ‘Delirium’ series!

Tasty and strong one. I always preferred brown beers and this one will not make me change my mind. Taste is surprisingly fruity, rather refreshing and complex at the same time. Probably not the best beer to get if you’re looking for something to drink without anything to go along, but definitely a great choice for any occasion to enjoy a good meal or simply listening to good music while enjoying this great beer with some friends. Very cool and especially great on tap! APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!

Really cool bottle. Red brown with a creamy off white head. Good lacing. Dry fruit, spice and caramel. Sweet but fresh taste with a slightly bitter aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big frothy beige head with very good retention. Clear reddish brown colour. Aroma is spicy, caramel, dark fruit. Taste is strongly spicy (coriander seeds and pepper). Sour acid finish. Crispy palate. High carbonation. Quite a spicy beer: Pepper and too much coriander in my opinion.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma is malty and fruity with spices. Figs, caramel, dark malt melts in to some winegum;-) Taste is caramel, light roasted, ripe fruit and coriander mixes in to winegum and caramel with hints of sweet liquorice. End is dry but only semi-bitter.

A friend advised me to get this at their café, and I’m glad I followed the advice. This beer is strong but not strident or aggressive. Like an older man with his life sorted out whose company you would enjoy.
