Dark black, but a little bit transparent with traces of flowers in the mouth... Just my opinion...

Pours a dark hazelnut with a 1/2 finger. Aroma is sweet with a touch of spice. Taste has front punch. Sweetness on the backend. Decent, but not out of this world.

Snifter pour. Thanks for providing this brew Chipalsa. Nose is chocolate and caramel malt with some fruity esters. Some light spice and definite wafts of yeast filled the air. Interesting. Taste is slightly yeasty with some semi-sweet chocolate malt and a light, dark fruit flavor. Good stuff all around but probably my least favorite of the three readily available brews from Brouwerij Huyghe.

Into a snifter poured a deep red beer with a thick sudsy head. The aromas were thick of yeast and sweet malts, and with a hint of cocoa. For a dark beer, tasted a lot more sweet than roasted too. Notes of yeast, cloves and chocolate while having a bready mouthfeel were pleasant, and made for a very session-able brew.

I tried this beer on January 20, 2012 at "The Beerbistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a solid dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma was dark malt, sugar, fruit tones. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet dark malt, molasses, and fruit.

Tap @ Slater’s 50/50. Pour is dark amber-brown with big foamy tan head. Sweet aroma: dark fruits, chocolate. Flavor is yeasty sweet with some burnt notes. Medium bodied; alcohol is very well-hidden.
