Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber-red with a thick, off-white head. Big aroma, of malt, spices, hops, pine, and dark fruits. Spicy taste, with malt, dark fruits, pine. Lingering sweet spiciness. Very tasty.

Enjoyed at Stone Bistro. Pours a rich chestnut amber color. No head whatsoever to speak of. Aroma like Belgian Christmas - Belgian phenolics mixed with nutmeg/cinnamon/chestnuts/etc. Surprisingly easy drinking and enjoyable. Also quite a bit hoppier than I expected.

Sweet apple peary aroma with slight sharp vinous esters. Taste is the same with belgiany spice. Well and subtly carbonated, and some astringency and fusels come through in the finish. $10/750

Reviewed at the 2007 Strong Ale festival A- Murky dark orange hue, minimal white bubbly head, light lacing S- Light, sweet berries, honey, brown sugar, winter spice, florals T- Initial taste is sugary fruits and berries, dark fruits, honey, bread malts, finishes sweet and dry M- Medium-bodied, watery texture, highly carbonated D- Very nicely balanced winter ale full of seasonal fruits and spices, alcohol is well-masked for a strong ale

Bottle from the Bier Tempel in Brussels. Pours mahogany with a reddish tinge and a massive head. Warm, malty aroma. Sweet and powerful flavour. Well-rounded but with a bite.
